NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently conducted the JEE Main 2017. The exam was held in more than 100 centers including 9 international centers. More than 12 lakh aspirants registered for the exam. Candidates now anxiously await the result of JEE Main 2017 and what their future brings them next.
JEE Main results will be declared by the CBSE on April 27, 2017. It will be published online on the official website www.jeemain.nic.in . The rank and score card will be made available on the same day.
The candidates who clear the cut-off score will be short-listed and will be eligible for JEE counselling. The JEE Main 2017 Counselling will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in the month of July 2017.
The JoSAA will provide a single online platform for application to the participating institutes to candidates. The aspirants who qualify in the JEE Main can register for the seat allotment process. Seat allotment will be done online on the basis of rank, category, number of seats available and other factors.
JEE Main 2017 is a national level entrance exam organized by the CBSE Board. The exam is the single portal for admission to engineering and architecture courses to IITs, NITs, and many other government funded colleges. Aspirants seeking admission in top colleges of the country appear for JEE Main 2017.
JEE Main 2017 acts as a portal for aspirants into the various prestigious engineering institutes of India. The institutes participating in JEE Main 2017 include 22 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 19 Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). Some of the states like Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Odisha offer admission to undergraduate engineering aspirants in their respective colleges on the basis of JEE Main 2017 scores. Some of the credible private engineering colleges in India also offer admission based on the JEE scores.
It is paramount to score well in the JEE Main Exam for the engineering as also architecture aspirants. JEE Main Result 2017 acts as the premier stage for admission into the world renowned Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and is also a doorway to the reputed NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. The top 2,20,000 qualified aspirants of JEE Main 2017 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2017.
The JEE Main results will be declared as proposed by the schedule uploaded on the official website. The result will specify the scores of candidates in the joint entrance exam in the form of score cards. The score cards will be made available online only and no hard copy will be sent to the applicants. The JEE Mains result score card will enable aspirants to apply to the prestigious colleges across the country
All the aspirants who participate in the entrance examination will be able to access their result in online mode. The applicants can download their result by accessing their registered login accounts from the official website www.jeemain.nic.in . Candidates must log on to their accounts and save the score card.
Before declaring the result, the official answer key of JEE Main 2017 of both Paper I and Paper II will be published by CBSE from April 18 to April 22, 2017. The students will be able to refer the answer key for cross checking their answers with the correct responses. This will give the aspirants an idea regarding the marks they might secure before the actual release of the official result. The answer key will be announced for all sets of the JEE Main 2017 question paper. The answer key will also be thrown open for challenges from the aspirants till April 22, 2017.
The rank list of JEE Main 2017 will be released by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on April 27, 2017 along with the result. The All India Ranks (AIRs) of the candidates will be announced through the rank list. The State ranks, Subject wise ranks and Category wise ranks and will also be published via a merit list online. The status of those student who qualify for the second stage examination i.e. JEE Advanced 2017 for IIT admissions will also be released soon by the CBSE.
The ranks secured in JEE Main 2017 will be decided by the cut off marks, percentile, total score secured in the exam and marks secured in the respective subjects. Candidates who score well in Mathematics and Physics secure a better rank if there is a tie between any candidates. It should be noted that the JEE Main and class 12th marks that used to be considered in the ratio of 60:40 will no longer be utilized in determining the ranks. However, students must score well in 12th class to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility norms.
JEE Main Counselling 2017 will be organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in July 2017. JEE Main counseling and seat allotment will be held in 6 rounds for admission to engineering and architecture courses in various government and private institutes.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority is responsible for admitting students in various courses offered by JEE Main. The rules for counselling are as laid by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
All aspirants who qualify JEE Main will be eligible for the counselling process. They must register for the counselling process online and select the course and college they prefer. Seats will be allocated after considering the candidate’s rank, category, availability of seats and course and college opted by them.
Counselling procedure for the applicants from North East Region and Union Territories (NEUT) will be organised by Central Seat Allocation Board, CSAB 2017 after JEE Main 2017 and JEE Advanced 2017 Result. CSAB is responsible for conducting the supernumerary round of seat allocation on supernumerary seats for Union Territories. Applicants from these regions must follow the guidelines set by the authority and visit the official website to know the schedule of counselling. Important features of the admission procedure, admission schedule, list of Reporting/ Help Centers, list of participating institutes with total number of seats available, seat distribution in the institutes will be given in the Information Brochure provided on the website. They will be required to register themselves with the CSAB.
CSAB will conduct a separate counselling process for the participating Self Financed Technical Institutes (SFTI) for admission of the qualified aspirants into their program. CSAB SFTI 2017 will be held after the JoSAA Counselling 2017 for all the participating institutes. The filling up of the 16,987 seats will be done based on merit entirely.
The seat allotment list for the qualified students will be displayed on the official website of JoSAA and CSAB for each round. Students will be allotted seats based on merit only. These students will have to report to their allotted centre along with their provisional call letter, documents for verification and the admission fee. The candidature of those aspirants who are offered seats but do not report at the allotted institute within the stipulated time will be cancelled.
An aspirant can withdraw the seat that he has already accepted, allotted by JoSAA or CSAB by reporting at the counselling centre before the last round of seat allocation. These students that exercise the withdraw option will not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment. There is no option of withdrawal of an accepted or allotted seat after the announcement of last round of seat allocation.
