XAT 2018 consists of English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Decision Making, General Awareness and Essay Writing. Collegedunia have also curated XAT Question Paper to help you in your preparation. Candidates must be thorough of XAT Syllabus along with pattern of the exam to prepare well.
NOTE - Candidates are allowed to leave out 12 questions, beyond which they have to incur negative marking of 0.05 marks.
For Preparing & practicing XAT Essay Writing section, students must refer XAT Simplified (12 years past papers+ 5 mock tests + General Awareness Essays) by Disha Publications. Here are some important books & Online Resources for XAT preparation:
XAT 2018 total duration is 3.5 hours. Paper 1 is of 170 minutes duration. After which there will be a break of five minutes followed by Paper 2. The total duration of Paper 2 is 35 minutes. According to XLRI, the candidates should ideally spend 20 minutes on the essay writing and 15 minutes on GK. The rough work can be done in the margin of a rough sheet. For Paper 2, the essay has to be written in the space provided with the blue/black ball pen.

Essay section has no fixed topic. Essay topic can be from general affairs, any current topic to abstract subject. It requires the ideas to present your chain of thoughts on the subject in an order.
