NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
Quantitative Aptitude is undoubtedly the toughest section asked in Xavier’s Aptitude Test. With over 30 questions in the section, Quantitative Aptitude is a major deciding factor in preparation of XAT 2017 Merit List and Cutoff. The main aim of the section is to test candidates’ ability to solve complex problems in minimum possible time.
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is a national level entrance examination conducted by XLRI to provide admissions to management courses. XAT Exam is divided into two parts. Part A consists of Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, and Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning while part B consists of general knowledge and English comprehension. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation is one of the most important sections and it is also considered a difficult section than in any other MBA entrance examination. So, candidates are advised to prepare for quantitative ability and data interpretation efficiently and practice hard.
XAT 2017 scores are accepted by XLRI and 100 other institutes for admissions in their management programs. It is an offline test i.e. pen-paper based test. It was successfully conducted on January 08, 2017. XAT 2017 was held in 47 cities across India and 2 international cities. Around 92,000 candidates appeared for the XAT 2017 exam. The competition is tough, so students are advised to go through the chapter- wise preparation tips given in this article.
There is no set syllabus of Quantitative Ability section in XAT. Quantitative Ability syllabus is vast, so questions can be asked from any part of Mathematics. This should be seen as an opportunity as there are plenty of topics from which candidates can score marks easily.
These topics are very important as questions from these topics are often asked. Students should make a study plan and prepare these topics first. Don’t try to attempt all questions but understand the concepts of these topics. While practicing mock tests, candidates are advised to solve questions from these topics first.

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation account for Maximum weightage of 37% in XAT percentile calculation. Out of 78 questions, 29 are of Quant and DI. Out of 29 questions, 22 questions are asked from Quantitative Ability and 7 questions from DI.
