XAT 2018 Analysis, Answer Key, Question Paper & Cut off

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) was successfully conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 7, 2018. Students who appeared for XAT 2018 can download the answer key from the official website from January 19 onwards. The expected XAT Cut off for HRM course is 92.55%, 96% for Business Management and 22 marks & above for GMP.

  • Questions on poetry would have been challenging for a student who is not adept at finding hidden meanings. Check XAT Paper Analysis (Detailed)
  • This year, questions on Quantitative Ability were dominated by Geometry, Modern Mathematics and Arithmetic. The set on Table was fairly calculation intensive but doable.
  • In Gk, Majority questions were based on international events/topics.
  • XAT 2018 Result with score card and percentile are expected to be released on January 31, 2018.

XAT 2018 Answer Key

Answer key will be available for all sets in PDF format. With the help of answer key, students can calculate their marks and evaluate their performance. Marking scheme help students to calculate probable marks. For correct answers, 1 mark will be assign and for wrong answers, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Following steps help students to download the XAT answer key:

  • Visit the official website of XAT i.e. xatonline.net.in
  • Login through XAT 2018 credentials i.e. User ID and Password
  • Click on the link indicating XAT 2018 Answer Key.
  • After clicking on the link, the answer key will be displayed on the screen in the PDF format.
  • Students are advised to download and take the printout of answer key for future reference.

XAT 2018 Paper Analysis

XAT Paper is divided into two parts i.e. Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is further divided into three sections i.e. A, B and C. Section A consists of 24 questions, section B comprised of 27 questions and Section C had 21 questions. Questions in part 1 were answered in 170 minutes and Part B questions were to be answered in 35 minutes.

  • As per the students appeared in the exam, XAT 2018 was difficult.
  • Verbal Ability and Decision-Making sections are more difficult than usual.
  • Apart from being difficult, the paper was bit lengthy.

Section A: Verbal and Logical Ability

This section focuses on student’s hold on language and implementation. It tests the student’s critical reasoning skills. This section has 4 reading comprehension passages. Questions in this section were of moderate difficulty level. According to the student’s reviews, Para-jumble questions were time-consuming.

Section B: Decision Making

This section focuses on student’s ability to analyze the situation by applying their common sense, logic and keen observation. The types of questions asked in this paper are:

Section C: Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation

This section was toughest. Mostly questions in the paper were of moderate to difficult. So, for clearing this section with good marks, students need a better understanding of concepts.

Part 2: General Knowledge

Marks scored by the students in GK are not added in the final result and merit list. These scores are used for the student’s final selection. There were 25 questions asked in this section and 35 minutes are allotted to complete this section.

XAT Cut off 2018

XAT cut off marks are the minimum marks scored by the candidate in order to qualify the exam. After the declaration of examination result, XAT Cut off will be released. On the basis of cut off marks, students will be further shortlisted for Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing round.

XAT 2018 cut off will be declared in the first week of February 2018. Cut off will be declared section-wise and institute-wise. Along with the participating institutes, cut off marks will also be declared by various coaching institutes.
