XAT Registration 2018 for Foreign Candidates

XLRI has made open the registration for XAT 2018. Both, candidates of Indian and Foreign Origin, can apply for XAT 2018. Foreign Nationals have the option of applying via XAT or GMAT.

While the last date to register via XAT is November 30, Foreign Nationals can complete XAT Registration (via GMAT) by December 31, 2017. Check XAT Exam Dates

  • XAT Application Form 2018 is available at XAT Official Website.
  • Students who register successfully will receive a unique user ID and Password on their registered email.
  • These applicants will appear for XAT 2018 on January 7. Check XAT Syllabus
  • It must be noted that candidates with status of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and Foreign Nationals (FN) can only apply for BM, HRM and GMP courses in XLRI. Check XAT Eligibility

Here are all the important dates for foreign candidates registering for XAT 2018:

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2018 for Foreign Candidates

It is a must for the students to check XAT eligibility criteria before filling the application form. They should carefully go through the below-mentioned eligibility conditions:

  • Students must possess a bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration from any recognized institute or college.
  • Those who are appearing for final year examination are also eligible to apply
  • Except Dubai and Kathmandu students, foreign candidates can also apply through GMAT scores.

XAT Registration 2018

Foreign candidates applying for courses in XLRI can apply either through GMAT or XAT. The last date to register via XAT is November 30, while the last to register via GMAT is December 31.

Registration via XAT

Before applying online, candidates should know the following points:

  • Students must keep ready a scanned copy of their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the guidelines.
  • Both the email ID and mobile no. must be valid and active until the completion of the application.
  • If students do not have a valid email ID and mobile no, they should create a new one.

After keeping all the above-mentioned things ready, applicants can register easily by following below steps:

Step 1: Registration Procedure

  1. Visit the XAT official website
  2. Then choose the tab scribed as “Click here for New Registration”.
  3. After that, enter the personal details like Name, Contact Details and Email-id.
  4. After entering the details, provisional XAT ID and password will be generated and displayed on the screen
  5. An email and SMS will also be sent containing information related to XAT ID and Password.
  6. Candidates are advised to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required.
  7. Students must know that after clicking on the final submit button no change in the details will be possible.
  8. Applicants can validate and save the details by clicking the “Validate you details” and “Save & Next” button.

Step 2: Upload Photo & Signature

If the photograph and signature are unclear, then your XAT Application Form 2018 may be rejected. Following is the detailed explanation of specification of both the photograph and signature:


  • Photograph must be recent passport size coloured picture
  • Face should be relaxed and look straight in the camera
  • There should be no red-eye effect
  • If students wear glasses then there should be no reflection and eyes can be seen clearly.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable.
  • File size should be between 20kb-50kb
  • Image dimensions must be 200x230 pixels.
  • Size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size is more than 50KB then adjust the settings of the scanner.


  • Signature must be done on white paper with Black Ink Pen
  • It must be done only by applicant not by any other person
  • File size should be between 10kb-20kb
  • Signature image dimensions must be 140x60 pixels.
  • File size should not be more than 20 KB.

Step 3: Fee Payment

  1. Now click on the payment tab and proceed for payment.
  2. XAT registration fees (without late fee) is INR 1650/-.
  3. With the late fee, the fee is INR 2000/-.
  4. Fees can be paid through both the online and offline mode which are explained below:

Through Online Mode

  • Online application fees can be paid by using Debit Card (RuPay/ Visa/ Master Card/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
  • After submitting the payment information do not press back or refresh button in order to avoid double charge
  • Candidates are required to take the printout of e-Receipt and online application form.

Through Offline Mode

It can be pay via two modes i.e. Cash Mode and Demand Draft.

  • Cash Mode- Students are required to download challan form and visit the nearest IDBI bank
  • Demand Draft- Make DD from any bank in favour of “XLRI JAMSHEDPUR” payable at Jamshedpur.
NOTE: After making DD visit XAT login page and update the DD details

Step 4: Confirmation Page

Students will receive a confirmation page, after previewing all the filled details. They must send the copy of confirmation page along with the DD at the following address:

Registration via GMAT

Through GMAT, students can get admission in various programmes which are as below:

  • PGDM (Business Management)
  • PGDM (Human Resource Management)
  • PGDM (General Management)
  • Fellow programme in Management

By using GMAT scores, the last date for registration is December 31, 2017. By following below steps, students can register via GMAT:

Step 1: Registration Procedure

  1. For registration go to XLRI GMAT Registration or if student has already registered, then logon to GMAT login.
  2. At the time of registration, students have to enter the information like GMAT details, personal information, interview city etc and submit it
  3. Re-login and fill the details like programmes and make payment

Step 2: Upload Photograph and Signature

  1. Students are required to upload their recent passport size photograph of dimensions 200x230 pixels.
  2. They are also required to upload scanned image of signature

Step 3: Fee Payment

Foreign candidates have to pay fees of amount INR 5000/- to apply for any number of programmes. The fees can be paid through two possible modes of payment which are explained below:

Online Payment Gateway

  • Online fees can be paid through VISA/ Master Card/ Debit Card/ IDBI Net Banking

Demand Draft

  • DD should be made in favour of “XLRI Programmes” payable at Jamshedpur.

Step 4: Confirmation Page

Print XLRI GMAT confirmation page and send along with the DD to the admission office within fifteen days from the date of issue of DD at the following address:
