With the entrance exam season fast approaching, aspirants are in the middle of preparation frenzy, trying to perfect their months of rigorous hard work for the management exam. In this article, we offer an insight into the preparation strategies & resources for SNAP exam’s highly scoring yet tricky section of Analytical & Logical Reasoning. The questions are mostly based on critical reasoning, deductive logic, analogies, logical reasoning sets, series, visual reasoning, arrangement, blood relations, and puzzles.

For this year, there will be 35 questions in the section, which are usually quite straightforward in nature but lack of adequate practice may result in your spending more time on them than you can afford to. Ideally, attempting 20 questions or more in about 30 minutes would be enough to bring you some decent score in SNAP Reasoning.

This section is of a moderate difficulty level that requires skills as well as speed on the part of the candidates. In order to become a Master of Reasoning Problems you should:

    • Repeatedly practice different types of reasoning problems in a time-bound manner.
    • Solve puzzles and brain-teasers to sharpen your reasoning skills.
    • Attempt as many mock tests (overall as well as sectional) as possible and analyze the results to identify your strengths and weaknesses.
    • While practicing, identify and jot down the logic behind the correct option. Analysis of your answers would show you whether your logical thinking is following the right path our not.
    • In reasoning, it is a thumb rule not to assume any information. Base your logical thinking on the exact information provided on the question.
    • Make sure you read and re-read the question and each of the options provided carefully so that you understand each information clearly.
    • While solving a reasoning question, it is a good idea to scribble a chart or picture to depict the information provided in the question.

    Practice with SNAP Sample Papers

Given that there is provision for negative marking in SNAP Test, you get less than a minute per question and each wrong answer will cost you 0.25 mark. Evidently, you do not have the luxury of either wasting time or be incorrect. Speed and accuracy are of utmost importance as the goal is to answer the maximum questions correctly within a limited time frame. Repeated Practice will help you identify the questions you can tackle head-on and the ones to leave. Please bear in mind that to score well you need not attempt all the questions but, solve the ones you are sure of in the limited span of time.
