STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
TANCET Exam for MCA was conducted on March 25, 2017 from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. The level of difficulty of the paper was moderate. It consists of 100 questions. The written test comprises four sections i.e. Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Computer Awareness. Each question carries one marks and there is negative marking of 1/3 marks for every wrong answer. Candidates had to solve the paper in two hours only. They can check the answer key of MCA for all the sets on the official website. With the help of answer key, candidates can calculate their total marks and can get a fair idea that they are qualified or not.
The result will be declared in the first week of July 2017. TANCET is organized by Anna University. The qualified candidates will be called for the counselling process after the declaration of result. They will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list released by the exam conducting body. TANCET MCA analysis will give you an insight into the nature of questions asked in the examination. As per the candidates, the difficulty level of the paper was of moderate level. Over the last few years, many changes took place in the composition of questions which made it difficult to guess the paper. The questions were based on Geometry, Mensuration, Work and Time, Percentages, Averages, Numbers, Probability, Profit and Loss, Simple Interest, Compound Interest etc. It consists of 30 questions. The difficulty level of this section was moderate to difficult. Most of the questions required basic formulae substitutions while a few others required the application of concepts. A well-prepared candidate could score more than 20 marks by spending 30 to 35 minutes. Check the following table to know the number of questions which were asked in TANCET.

Most of the questions were based on following topics such as Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Correction, Reading Comprehension etc. The level of this section was easy. Reading Comprehension was simple and easier to score than other questions. As per the candidates, Sentence Correction questions were quite hard to attempt. It needed good comprehension and understanding of basic grammar. Any score more than 17 marks will be a good one. This section contains Analytical Reasoning and Logical Reasoning. As per the candidates, the level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. Most of the questions were asked from Coding and Decoding, Venn Diagrams, Deductions, Series, Analogy, Calendars, Direction Sense, Blood Relations etc. Apart from these questions, twelve questions based on Non-Verbal Reasoning were also given. The Non-Verbal questions contain the following sub topics such as series, analogy and odd man out. Candidates could easily answer these questions as the difficulty level of these questions was easy. The questions on Deductions and Critical Reasoning were the little bit hard to attempt. Candidates could easily score more than 25 questions, if they attempted properly.
For MCA Programme, the computer awareness section is the most important section in TANCET. Candidates passed out from non-computer background found it difficult. However, the level of the difficulty of this section was moderate to difficult. Over the last years, the questions were based on programming, flowchart electronics, hardware related areas to simple terminology. In TANCET 2017, the questions were asked from computers mainly focused on operating systems, Computer Organization, Networks, Software Engineering, DBMS, Hardware and Binary logic etc. Any score than more than 22 will be considered as one.
TANCET 2017 cutoff for MCA depends on the number of candidates appeared for the examination and the minimum score considered by various institutions. The scores obtained in the TANCET decides the rank of the candidate.
