    IIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech. Admission and JEE Advanced Cut-off

    The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar is also known as IIT Bhubaneswar / IIT BBS. It is a public research Engineering, Technology & Sciences university  established in the year 2008 by  the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

    The University offers admission to various UG, PG and research courses through various competitive exams like JEE/GATE /JRF etc. The IIT BBS enrols candidates in various streams of B.Tech.  Programs on the basis of the score in JEE Advanced 2017. For every course, the institute reserves seats for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC as per the norms of the Government.

    Candidates qualifying JEE Mains examination can appear in JEE Advanced 2017 and based on the score in the same, they will be granted admission. Application form for JEE Advance 2017 will be available on the website i.e. http://www.jeemain.nic.in from April 28, 2017 till May 02, 2017. Candidates scoring minimum cut-off marks in JEE Advanced will qualify for different IITs.


    B.Tech Programs offered at IIT BBS

    The IIT BBS offers B.Tech courses in a number of streams in English medium only. The disciplines offered by the Institute are:

    • Civil Engineering
    • Computer Science and Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

    IIT BBS B.Tech Admission Eligibility 2017

    Candidates willing to fill the JEE Advanced Application Form for B.Tech. course in IIT BBS, must make sure they fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria.

    • Candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1991.
    • There is a relaxation of five years for  the candidates belonging to  SC, ST and PwD categories. Such candidates should be born on or after October 1, 1986.
    • Candidate should have qualified HSC examination with Physics, Chemistry, Math/Physics ,Chemistry ,Math , Biology  and English from a recognized Indian/foreign University or an institute recognized as equivalent thereto
    • Candidates appearing in 12th class are also eligible for JEE (MAINS & ADVANCED)
    • Candidate who have qualified in JEE Mains exam and have secured positions among top two lakh candidates including all categories are eligible for JEE Advanced.

    Note: The number of permissible attempts for JEE Advanced is two times in consecutive years.

    IIT BBS 2017 Application Process

    The admission to IIT BBS is a two-step process:

    1. JEE MAINS
    2. JEE ADVANCED

    Candidates who have qualified JEE Mains and are among top 2 Lakh Candidates are eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2017. The candidates can apply for JEE Advanced by filling and submitting the complete online application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before the due date. Candidate must logon to the official website http://www.jeemain.nic.in  and follow the following steps:

    1. Login to the official website of JEE Advanced using JEE Mains roll no. and password .
    2. Start  filling the application form through the university web site
    3. Candidates are required to upload the scanned (digital) image of the required documents
    4. After completely filling the application form candidates can pay the application fee online/ through Bank Challan.
    5. Cross check all the entered details and then submit the application form online.
    6. Candidate must keep the Xerox of application form  for future reference.

    JEE Advanced Cut Off 2015 for B.Tech

    Cut-off will be declared after the result of the JEE Advanced. Based on score of the candidate, he/she is assigned a rank. The rank of the candidate determines his/her admission in different streams. Only the candidates in top 2 lakh positions of JEE Mains are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2017. There are number of factors that affect the cut-off every year. Some of them are enlisted.

    • The number of registered candidates in JEE Advanced 2017.
    • The number of students appearing in the exam
    • The Level of  Difficulty of the question paper 
    • Previous years Cut Off  marks
    • Number of seats available for particular course.
    • Intake capacity.
    • Marking scheme
    • Performance level of the candidate.

    The IIT Cut off is not fixed and may vary every year. Given below is the previous year’s cut-off list of all the categories. It will give a fair idea to the aspirants as to how high the cut-off can go:
