JEE Advanced 2018 Information Brochure Released

IIT Kanpur, the organising institute of JEE Advanced 2018, has released the official notification on January 26, 2018. With the release of the information brochure, the institute has also declared the important dates of the events with some changes.

JEE Advanced is held by one of the 7 Zonal Coordinating IITs for admission to Bachelor's, Integrated Master's and Dual Degree programs in Engineering and Architecture programs in IITs. The official website of JEE Advanced 2018 is www.jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE Main 2018

JEE Advanced 2018 is scheduled for May 20 (Sunday). The exam comprises 2 papers and both are mandatory to be eligible for the admission rounds.

Changes Introduced in JEE Advanced

  • JEE Advanced 2018 will be completely online. The exam will now be computer-based unlike the previous years. Check JEE Main Mock Test
  • The reservation for PwD candidates in each category for admission has been increased to 5% from 3%. 
  • Category-wise distribution of candidates for seats has been changed for 2018.   
  • An additional 4000 candidates will be able to appear in JEE Advanced 2018 making the total number of eligible candidates to 2,24,000.
  • The application fee of JEE Advanced 2018 has been increased for all categories. The increased application fee is provided in the following table:

The application fee is exclusive of bank charges.


Basic Eligibility Criteria

All Indian nationals who satisfy the eligibility criteria can appear in JEE Advanced.

Criteria 1: Performance in JEE Main 2018. Only top 2,24,000 AIR holders will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced exam.

Criteria 2: Age limit: Candidates should have born on or after October 01, 1993. 5 Years relaxation is given to SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Criteria 3: Number of Attempts: Maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years.

Criteria 4: Appearance in Class 12: Candidates should have appeared in class 12 for the first time in either 2017 or 2018.
