JEE Advanced 2019

JEE Advanced 2019 is a national-level entrance exam for providing admissions in Engineering or Architecture programs in the top institutes of India such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs etc. The successful applicants of JEE Main 2019 are only eligible to write JEE Advanced examination.

It will be conducted by the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB) for admission into Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs for all the IITs. Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided that the test will be conducted in online mode from 2018.

Interested aspirants for JEE Advanced 2019 should note the important highlights of the exam mentioned below.

  • JEE Advanced 2019 is scheduled to take place in the second week of May 2019
  • Registration will commence from the last week of April 2019 after results of JEE Main 2019 are out.
  • JEE Advanced application form 2019 will be available in the online mode only till the 1st week of May 2019.
  • As per JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2019, candidates among top 2,00,000 (all categories) can only apply.
  • Candidates can download their JEE Advanced admit card 2019 from the second week of May 2019.
  • There will be 2 papers of 3 hour duration each.

JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for JEE Advanced 2019 exam.

Age limit

The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1993. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

JEE Main 2019 Rank

Only those who qualified JEE Main 2019 and have a rank within top 2, 00,000 are eligible to apply. The reservation for candidates include 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST. The remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all candidates.

Educational Qualification

The candidate should have appeared for Class 12th or equivalent exam for the first time in all the subjects in either 2018 or 2019. Those who appeared for the first time in their Class 12th or equivalent examination in 2017 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Number of Attempts

JEE advanced exam can be given by a candidate a maximum of two times in consecutive years. Therefore, candidates who appeared in JEE Advanced 2018 for the first time are also eligible.

Earlier admission at IITs/ISM

The candidate is not eligible for JEE Advanced 2019 if he/she have been admitted in an IIT/ISM (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR accepted the IIT/ISM seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past.


JEE Advanced 2019 Application Form

Candidates can fill JEE Advanced application 2019 from 4th week of April, 2019 in the online mode only. Candidates can avail the form on the official website of JEE Advanced till 1st week of May 2019.

Candidates should follow these steps to fill JEE Advanced 2019 Application Form.

  • Register and Login
  • Fill the complete JEE Advanced 2019 application form
  • Upload the necessary documents
  • Pay application fee

JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card

The admit cards for JEE Advanced 2019 will release in the 2nd week of May 2019. These can be downloaded from the official website www.jeeadv.nic.in.

In order to download JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card, one must follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of JEE Advanced i.e. jeeadv.ac.in
  2. Click on the link for ‘JEE Advanced 2017 Admit Card’
  3. Enter your registered application number and password
  4. Check details on admit card
  5. Print it for further use

Candidates need to carry admit card to the examination center along with photo ID proof. Without admit card, they will not be allowed to write the examination.


JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern

Slight changes in the question paper pattern for JEE Advanced 2019 are expected. As per previous year, exam pattern would be as follows:

  • JEE Advanced 2019 will be bilingual, in Hindi and English.
  • There will be 2 question papers - Paper 1 & Paper 2 of 3 hours duration each.
  • Both the papers will be compulsory.
  • They will have 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The marking scheme is expected to have full marking, partial marking, zero marking and negative marking depending on the question.


JEE Advanced 2019 Syllabus

JEE Advanced 2019 is scheduled in the third week of May 2019 and the syllabus shall be decided by the organizing institute.

JEE Advanced 2019 Answer Key

The Answer key for JEE Advanced 2019 examination will be released in the end of May 2019. The Response sheet of the candidates will also be available for download.


JEE Advanced 2019 Result

JEE Advanced result 2019 will be declared around 2nd week of June 2019 at the official website www.jeeadv.nic.in. Candidates can check their marks in individual subjects as well as the total marks scored along with category-wise All India Rank (AIR) through the result.

Follow these steps to check JEE Advanced 2019 result:

  1. Visit the Official website of JEE Advanced i.e. www.jeeadv.ac.in
  2. Click on ‘JEE Advanced Result’ link
  3. Enter your JEE Advanced 2018 Roll Number and Date of Birth
  4. Click on “Submit” button
  5. View your JEE Advanced result on the screen
  6. Download and take a printout of their JEE Advanced 2018 Score Card

All the successful candidates will be shortlisted to participate in JEE Advanced Counselling 2019. It will be conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). 


JEE Advanced 2019 Cut off

Cut off is the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in JEE Advanced 2019 to be able to sit for counselling. Cut off marks depend upon how many students registered, how many actually sat for the exam, last year’s cutoff etc.

JEE Advanced 2019 Cut off will vary institute-wise and category-wise. As for the total marks, a candidate must obtain the below-set marks to qualify (As per JEE Advanced 2018 exam pattern)

  1. Total marks to obtain in Paper 1 and 2- 372 (186 in each paper)
  2. Total marks in Physics- 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)
  3. Total marks in Chemistry- 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)
  4. Total marks in Mathematics- 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

JEE Advanced Participating Institutes 2019

There are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) including ISM Dhanbad (now converted to IIT) which are the participating institutes of JEE Advanced 2019. These 23 IITs will offer around 10,572 B.Tech seats on the basis of JEE Advanced 2019. Apart from the 23 IITs, the following institutes will also offer admissions to candidates on the basis of JEE Advanced score/marks:

JEE Advanced Counselling & Seat Allotment 2019

The counselling procedure of JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 will be regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in seven rounds for admissions to B. Tech programs.

  • JoSAA Counselling is conducted for admission to 93 IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs including ISM Dhanbad.
  • Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will organize counselling for JEE Main (All India Rank) & JEE Advanced.
  • Candidates can register as per schedule and select preferences for colleges and branches.
  • Counselling and seat allotment is expected to begin from 4th week of June 2019.
  • Counselling will be carried out in online mode.
  • Candidates who will qualify JEE Advanced 2019 exam only will be eligible to attend the counselling process for seat allocation in all IITs & ISM.
  • Candidates will be offered admission into IITs based on their marks/score in JEE Advanced and choice filled duing JoSAA registration.
  • Candidates with atleast 75% aggregate marks in Class XII are eligible to apply for JoSAA.
