JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2019

JEE Advanced 2019 is a national level examination conducted by Indian Institute of Technology to provide admission to candidates in Engineering, Science or Architecture programs in the top institutes of India. JEE Advanced 2019 is a computer-based exam comprising 2 parts, Paper-1 of which includes objective type questions (MCQs) while Paper-2 consists of Numerical answer type questions. Students must be very careful while attempting the questions as there is negative marking for incorrect answers. The questions will be based on JEE Advanced Syllabus 2019 of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each of the 2 papers will be of 3 hours duration.

JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern in Detail

Candidates must be aware of JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern in advance as it will help them plan their preparation accordingly. Mentioned below in detail is JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2019.

JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted in online mode only i.e. it is a computer based test.  The paper is divided into three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. JEE Advanced 2019 comprises two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2 and it is compulsory for candidates to attempt both the papers.

Question paper will be available in both English and Hindi language. Paper 1 consists of multiple choice questions while Paper 2 comprises Numerical Answer Type questions. Total time allotted to the candidates to complete the paper is 3 hours.

Marking Scheme

Depending on the question, the marking scheme is expected to have full marking, partial marking, zero marking and negative marking. There will be 10 sets of questions for Paper-1. Candidates can check the marking scheme from the table below:
