    JEE Advanced Seat Matrix for IIT Kharagpur

    The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) has recently announced the reporting centres for joint seat allocation. The concerned authority has declared 55 Reporting Centres for JoSAA 2017 exam. Candidates must report to their respective reporting centres for document verification according to their eligibility.

    Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will be providing admissions to all applicants who satisfy the required cutoff ranks. Selected applicants will be able to move forward in the admission procedure and get seats allotted in the institute while the ineligible applicants will be disqualified. IIT Kharagpur offers a total of 1341 seats in different branches of Engineering.


    Seat Matrix for IIT Kharagpur in JEE Advanced 2017

    The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP) is a public engineering institution established by the government of India in 1951 and is the first of the IITs to be established. The institution offers admission in four-year B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology), five-year BArch degree, five-year Dual Degree (Integrated Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology) and five-year integrated MSc (Master of Sciences) courses.

    To get admission into IIT Kharagpur, students must have qualified JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced. The process of admission would be followed by Joint Seat Allocation Authority counselling for the qualified candidates. Getting admission into IIT Kharagpur is a two-step process.

    1. One needs to qualify JEE (Main) and then take JEE (Advanced). 
    2. Admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced) rank.

    JEE Advanced Counselling (JOSAA)

    • Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conduct counselling for the candidates who have qualified JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced.
    • JoSAA will conduct the seat allocation procedure for the academic programs offered by 92 JEE Main Participating Institutes - IITs/ NITs/ ISM/ IIITs and other GFTIs for the academic year 2017-18.
    • JEE Advanced Counselling will tentatively commence from the last week of June till July 2017.
    • Candidates can participate in the counselling process if they have passed the JEE Advanced Result.
    • Allotted candidates will have to report in person at their allotted centers.
    • Failure to report will lead to the cancellation of admission.
    • In the above-mentioned case, if the seat acceptance fee has been paid then it will be refunded.
    • JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Procedure includes registration, filling and locking of choices, allotment of seats, reporting to the allotted college and getting provisional admission in these colleges.
    • There will be 7 rounds of JoSAA counselling
    • First round will start from June 28, 2017 and will include 1st round seat allocation announcement, followed by 1st round seat acceptance at RC and end of 1st round of seat acceptance at RC.
    • Second round will begin on July 4, 2017 and will include display of seats filled/availability status, followed by 2nd round seat allocation announcement, 2nd round seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC and end of 2nd round of seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC.
    • Third round will begin on July 7, 2017 which will include display of seats filled/availability status, followed by 3rd round seat allocation announcement, 3rd round seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC and end of 3rd round of seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC.
    • Fourth round will begin on July 10, 2017 include 4th round seat allocation announcement, followed by 4th round seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC and end of 4th round of seat acceptance at RC.
    • Fifth round will begin on July 13, 2017 include display of seats filled/availability of seats, 5th round seat allocation announcement, 5th round seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC and end of 5th round of seat acceptance/withdrawal at RC.
    • Sixth round will begin on July 15, 2017 include 6th round seat allocation announcement, followed by 6th round seat acceptance at RC and end of 6th round of seat acceptance at RC.
    • Seventh round will begin on July 18, 2017 include 7th round seat allocation announcement, followed by 7th round seat acceptance at RC and end of 7th round of seat acceptance at RC.

    Documents Required for Provisional Admission

    Students are required to submit original documents along with one attested photocopy during verification for taking provisional admission.

    • JEE Advanced 2017 Original Admit Card
    • JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment Letter from JOCSAP website
    • JEE Advanced Application Form (duly filled)
    • Duly filled medical examination report
    • Birth Proof — Class Xth /HSC/Birth Certificate/Any other certificate as proof of data of birth
    • Class 12th or Equivalent Examination Mark sheet and Passing Certificate
    • Category Certificate (OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by competent authority as per the format in the JEE Advanced 2017 Brochure
    • Criterion for Foreign National students — Attested photocopy of the page in the passport comprising the name, photo and nationality.
    • DD towards the registration fee. It would be later adjusted towards the tuition fee, to be paid at the time of admission.
