The subject-specific tips to help you prepare better are provided below:

1- Mathematics

This is a subject where practice makes perfect. First, make sure you remember all the important formulas related to each topic. Then, as many times as you can, practice different types of questions. You should reach a stage where no question taken from the NCERT book should pose you a problem.

After you have mastered the syllabus at NCERT level, start looking at more difficult questions that pertain to the JEE level. You don’t directly have to jump to such a bigger level. You can attempt some easier questions first. But, slowly work your way up to the JEE level.

Math demands practice. So, indulge in it. Understand the concept behind each question. Many IIT JEE questions are actually simple but worded in a manner that makes them seem difficult. This is why you must solve a lot of questions of various types.

There can be multiple ways to arrive at the answer. Don’t be content with knowing just one working solution. Experiment constantly and find out shorter, simpler methods to solve a particular question type.

2- Physics

This subject brings out quite a varied range of reactions in students. Some seem to enjoy it and have a genuine interest in it. For such students, problem-solving becomes intuitive. On the other hand, for a vast majority of students, Physics seems like an obscure subject that they can’t seem to wrap their heads around.

The first step of preparation for Physics is to ensure that you know the content of your NCERT book well. Read through the chapters and go through the problems given at the end. The questions asked at IIT level for JEE Advanced are generally a lot more difficult.  So, you will need to study from some good books.

Ask your teachers about the best books for JEE. Solve a good number of problems from these books. The best source to understand the type of questions asked in JEE is the previous years’ questions bank. For the best level of preparation, you must solve ample questions from recent years question bank.

3- Chemistry

Most students find Chemistry to be an easier subject as compared to the other two. Even if the difficulty level is a little high, a good student is generally able to solve a decent number of questions from this section of the question paper.

Preparation for this subject begins with covering all theory given in the NCERT book. Memorise all formulas related to the different chapters. Start out by solving problems at the NCERT degree. Make your way gradually to solving questions of a higher level.

Refer to previous year questions to ensure your preparation is strong. It is important to remember that Chemistry questions also require a bit of Mathematics. So, practice solving numerical problems related to the topic of Physical Chemistry as well.
