NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The Mudra Institute of Communications or the MICA, Ahmedabad, has recently released a notification about its entrance exam, The MICA Aptitude Test (MICAT 2017). As we all know, the MICAT is held twice a year. For this year, the MICAT (I) is scheduled for December 11, 2016 and MICAT (II) is scheduled for February 12, 2017.

The MICAT Registrations (I) are scheduled to begin from last week of September or first week of October and shall end by November 25, 2016. For MICAT Registrations (II), candidate can start applying from January 3, 2017 onwards. The MICAT is held to admit students into MICA’s Postgraduate Diploma in Management- Communication (PGDM-C). Here is the detailed MICAT ExamSchedule that all the aspirants can refer to. Both the schedules, for MICAT I and II, are given in the below tables. The candidates must be familiar with the schedule of the test so that they don’t miss any deadline.

Candidates must make sure they fulfill the MICAT Eligibility Criteria for the exam in 2017. If they do not fall under this criterion, their candidature may be rejected. Here are the points that you must fulfill:
The MICAT application form for both, MICAT I and II, shall be available online only. They can be obtained at the official website of the institute. The candidates must be careful with the submission of the application form. Once the form is submitted, the candidates will not be allowed to modify or change it.

Steps to fill the MICAT Application Form
To fill in the application form for MICA Admission Test, candidates can follow the steps given below –
Candidates have to pay the MICAT Application Fee in order to complete the MICA Registration Process. The fee can be paid through either online or offline mode. The application fee for MICAT 2017 is INR 1965/-. It will not be refunded under any circumstances. The MICAT Application Fee can also be paid through a demand draft from any bank in favor of “MICA” payable at Ahmedabad. The candidates paying via DD are required to print the payment advice form, sign it and send it at the MICA office postal address along with the DD.
The entrance test for MICAT is held in a Computer Based Format across 14 cities. The MICAT Test Centres will be in the below 14 states:
Candidates can obtain their MICAT Admit Cards 2017 through MICA’s Official Website. For MICAT (I), admit cards shall be available from December 2, 2016. For MICAT (II), the issuance of admit cards will begin from February 6, 2017. Candidates may please note that the MICAT Admit Card will be available only if they successfully complete their application process. It is mandatary to carry your admit card while appearing for MICAT 2017. Also, do cross-check your details on it.
Once the MICAT is conducted successfully, the institute will release the names of shortlisted candidates for the pre-admission process. The MICAT Result will be declared on MICA’s official website and students must keep a tab of the same. Also, MICA will be sending an email regarding the shortlist to the candidates. These shortlisted candidates are required to submit a DD of Rs. 50,000/- for the pre-admission process.
There is a three-tier MICAT selection procedure that MICA follows in order to admit students in its PGDM-C course. The three stages have been described below:
Stage I- CAT/XAT/GMAT Score
Each candidate has to take at least one of the three exams: CAT 2016, XAT 2017 and GMAT (2015 onwards).
Stage II- MICA Admission Test (MICAT) 2017
All the candidates are assessed on MICAT which consists of 6 sections: Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative ability (QA), General awareness (GA) , Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR) and Descriptive Test (DT).
Stage III- Group Discussion/ Personal Interview
The candidates who have scored well in the entrance test will be shortlisted for the pre-admission processes i.e. GE and PI. After GE & PI, the Institute will declare the final result.
Candidates who qualify all the above stages, will be eligible for a place in MICAT Merit List 2017. The below points describe the factors that are required to get shortlisted in the MICAT Merit List.
Short listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai.
