MICAT 2018 Answer Key, Question Paper & Analysis

MICA Admission Test is conducted for the students who want to get admission in Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications. MICAT exam is held once in a year in the month of June. Within a week after the completion of the examination, the answer key will also be released on the official website of board in the month of June 2018. Check MICAT Cut off

  • The first three questions were based on the topic: ‘Expert Opinion' is critical on Geo-Political developments.
  • Questions on data sufficiency, statement and conclusion and visual reasoning were on the easy lines. Check MICAT Paper Analysis
  • Questions of General Awareness section is primarily on media, advertising, marketing, films, general and social issues and general global awareness. 
  • Verbal Ability was a mix of Reading comprehension and English usage. Check MICAT Selection Process 

Psychometric Test

  • There were 3 types of questions. The first set had a set of 30 statements out of which the candidates had to pick 10 statements best describing their personality.
  • In the second set of questions, candidates had to choose from a set of 2 arguments and rate them according to their personality.
  • The third set of questions one had to rank various responses under given circumstances on a scale of 1 to 6 where 1 implies highest priority and 6 imply least priority.

MICAT 2018 Answer Key

With the help of the answer key, students can cross-check their answers and will be able to calculate their scores based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. By calculating the scores, students can estimate or analyze their performance. The answer key will be available in online mode only. Some of the coaching institutes also release the answer key along with the question paper.

Students can calculate the marks by following the MICAT marking scheme which are as below:

  • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded
  • For every incorrect answer, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks

In order to access the MICAT 2018 answer key, students have to follow the below steps:

  • Visit the official website of “Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmadabad” (MICA) i.e. www.mica.ac.in
  • Search the MICA 2018 Answer key on the official website
  • The answer key will be found in the PDF format which students can download and save for future references
  • Students can download the desired set of answer key from any of the booklet i.e. A, B, C and D.

MICAT 2018 Paper Analysis

With the help of the paper analysis, students will come to know about that what type of questions will come in the exam, examination difficulty level, distribution of marks and much more. The paper is divided into three sections. From the following table, students can easily check the distribution of questions as well as the overall exam analysis:

Following is the detailed explanation of section wise exam analysis:

Section 1: Descriptive Test

  • This test consists of total of four questions out of which for first two questions students have to write three points for and against a particular topic.
  • The answer of third question must be of 300 words which will be in favour or against the given topic
  • The first three questions will be based on expert opinion and on Geo-Political Development.
  • The fourth question consists of four pictures in which candidates had to write down a pictorial combination and explain with a story

Section 2: Psychometric Test

This test is comprised of 37 questions. It is compulsory for the students to attempt all the questions because there is no negative marking. In the first set of questions, there were three options for each question and students have to select only one answer.

In the second set of questions students have to choose one from a set of two arguments. In the last and final set of questions, students have to rank the statement on a scale of 1 to 6. 

Section 3: Reasoning, General Awareness, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Analysis

1. Reasoning

This section consists of 30 questions of moderate to difficult level. In this section there is a negative marking for incorrect answers. The following table shows the complete topic-wise break up of this section:

2. General Awareness

This section is moderate to difficult. Questions in this section were based on business taglines, mergers and acquisitions, corporate heads, and brand and marketing campaigns etc. The break-down of this section is shown in the following table:

3. Verbal Ability

Questions in this section were asked from Phrase Replacements, Jumbles Paragraphs, Synonyms, Double Blanks and a Reading Comprehension Passage. The reading comprehension question was of moderate difficulty level. Rest of the questions were easy to moderate.

4. Quantitative Analysis

This section contains mostly Arithmetic and modern Mathematics questions. There were two sets from Data Interpretation section with 3 questions. The topics are shown in the given table:

MICAT Cut off 2018

Cut off marks are the minimum marks scored by the candidate in order to get admission in the college/ institute. The institute does not release any cut off for admission to PGDM programme. Applicants scoring marks less than the cut off will not be shortlisted for the further selection rounds. Check MICAT Selection Process
