NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IIT Delhi recently declared IIT JAM 2017 Result on the official website i.e. jam.iitd.ac.in. All the qualified candidates will now be called for submission of IIT JAM Admission Form 2017 at IIT Madras starting from April 12, 2017. Last to submit admission forms at the institute is April 25. Following the submission of admission forms, candidates will have submit their document for IIT JAM 2017 latest by May 10, 2017. Based upon the position of candidates in IIT JAM 2017 Merit List, the conducting body will release Admission lists in three rounds that will include names of shortlisted candidates.
IIT JAM is conducted for M.Sc/Phd or M.Sc-Phd Dual degree professional courses offered by the IIT's and IISc. IIT JAM has been announced this year which was conducted by Delhi on February 12, 2017. The exam was conducted for various post graduate (PG) science programmes including integrated Ph. D, M. Sc, joint M. Sc-Ph. D, M. Sc-Ph. D dual degree, M. Sc-M. Tech, M. Sc-M. Sc (Research), Ph. D dual degree and other post bachelor degree programmes.
Each year the admission test is conducted by any of the 15 participating institutes that include IITs in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahauti, Madras, Pune and Ropar.
In 2018 IIT JAM will be conducted in 1st week of February. The online registration starts around 1st week of September 2017. The candidates can fill in the form and upload documents until 2nd week of October 2017. In 2017, the JAM results were announced on March 24. The results will be available on the official website.
IIT JAM 2017 All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to the candidate depending on the performance of the candidate as per the merit list. The candidates whose names have appeared in IIT JAM 2017 Merit List can apply for admission in the colleges. The candidates can check their ranks using their user id and password. The rank list will be prepared for each paper separately. The candidates can download the scorecard from the official website. The expected cut off for 2017 IIT JAM is provided below:

Each IIT JAM 2017 Test paper will have a separate All India Rank depending upon performance of each candidate in their respective paper. IIT JAM Merit List 2017 includes the names of all the qualifying candidates in order of the marks obtained by them. The merit list is prepared separately for each category. Once the merit list is prepared the candidate becomes eligible to apply for admission in the colleges. The All India Merit List will depend on the number of seats available in any given subject.
The tie-breaking criteria for awarding AIR to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a test paper. The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks is given a higher rank. If this criterion fails to break ties, the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank.
The category candidate must submit the certificate forms in the prescribed format when along with their application form. The relevant certificate will not be accepted after April 24, 2017 under any circumstances. The final seat settlement will be done based on the certificate submitted along with application form for admission. If the candidate does not submit the form, they will be considered in general category.
IIT JAM 2017 Result has been declared on March 24, 2017 on the official website. No scorecards are sent to the candidates through offline mode. The result of JAM 2017 will specify the scores in the joint admission test of M.Sc programmes, in the forms of score card. JAM Score Card 2017 will not be sent to the test takers in hard copy.
IIT Delhi will organize the IIT JAM 2017 counselling. The counselling will be held online on April 12, 2017. The counselling will begin with the submission of online applications. The candidates who are applying for admissions to M. Sc programs in NIT (National Institute of Technology) and CFTI (Centrally Funded Technical Institutes through common counselling portal of IIT JAM 2017. The admissions in IIT, CFTI and NIT will be awarded as per merit list of JAM scores of 2017.
The authority invites students for counselling depending on their AIR rank in the merit list. The counselling procedure comprises of following steps:
Admission Form: The students can apply for admissions by filling the Admission form via online process. The admission form costs INR 600. The payment can be done through debit card, credit card or net banking. The candidates should upload the scanned images for mandatory documents. The candidates can choose the institutes of their choices when filling the application form.
Reject or Accept Choices: Once the offer for admission is received, students can log in and choose one of the options, i.e., Accept or Upgrade or Reject and Quit. When the student accepts the seat, they are expected to pay “Seat booking fee” with online process only.
Reporting to the Allocated Centre: The counselling process will be organized in different rounds. The candidate gets allotted a seat for admissions, the candidates are required to report to the allotted college for balance fee payment and other process of admission. When a candidate fails to accept, the admission offer the candidate will be considered for further admission procedure.
