Central University of Haryana Admission through CUCET 2017

    CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) is a combined eligibility test conducted for admission to ten state universities. The universities accepting CUCET 2017 Scores are Central Universities of Haryana, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. These ten participating universities offer around 200 programs for CUCET qualified candidates.

    CUCET Application Process has already begun from March 14, 2017. Candidates must fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria while applying for CUCET. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for CUCET is available online on the official website by April 20, 2017. List of courses offered by Central University of Haryana and minimum eligibility criteria for separate courses is mentioned in this article.

    The written exam will be conducted on May 17-18, 2017. CUCET Result will be declared in the first week of June. A separate merit list will be prepared of selected candidates on the basis of CUCET score. The candidates deemed qualified and selected for final admission will be called to the university for counselling. Candidates must follow all the instructions properly during counselling and carry all the important documents.

    CUCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

    Admissions will be made to several undergraduate and post graduate courses. Haryana University offers several postgraduate, research and PhD. programs. Minimum eligibility criteria to apply for admission is mentioned here. Candidates must fulfill the required eligibility criteria for successful admission at the Haryana University. Separate eligibility criteria for each courses set by Central University of Haryana are tabulated below:

    Master of Computer Application (MCA)Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

    Eligibility for Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD)

    1.    Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST)

    • Post-graduate Programs- Passed the qualifying school/degree examination with minimum qualifying marks or not less than 40%.
    • M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programs- SC/ST candidates shall be given only 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility marks.

    2.    Other Backward Classes (OBC)

    • Post-graduate Programs- Relaxation will be given in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination to the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for the General Category candidates.
    • The OBC candidates belonging to the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ and whose castes appear in the Central List of the OBCs shall only be eligible for admission under the OBC Category.

    3.    Persons With Disabilities (PWD)

    • The PWD candidates with not less than 40% disability will be provided a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination to the extent of 5%.

    4.    Children/Widows of the eligible Armed Forces Personnel (CW Category)

    • Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements in the qualifying examinations 

    CUCET 2017 Reservation

    Some of the total seats are reserved for the SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD category candidates. The provisions under reservation category are as follows:

    • Candidates applying under reserved category should attach the attested copies of caste certificate from a competent authority.
    •  Those candidates who are suffering less than 40% of disability will not be considered under PWD category.
    • The reservation for Kashmiri and Ex-Servicemen will be considered according to the government of India rules and the availability for supernumerary seats is also there for J&K migrants and Ex- Servicemen.

    Based on the government reservation policy the weightage of seats reserved for different categories is as follows:

    CUCET 2017 Result and Selection Process

    CUCET 2017 Result will be available on the official university website on June 17, 2017. Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of final merit list. A separate merit list is prepared for each course. Shortlisted candidates will qualify for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

    Selected candidates are required to submit the following documents at the time of counselling process

    • Educational Qualification Certificates (e.g. mark sheet and degree certificate)
    • Reservation Certificates
    • CUCET 2017 Score card
