CUCET 2019 Exam Pattern

CUCET 2019 Exam Pattern will comprise 2 parts, i.e. Part A and Part B. Part A will consist of 25 questions from the English Language, General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude, Analytical Skills whereas Part B will consist of 75 questions focusing on the candidates’ domain/subject.

CUCET 2019 exam will be held in offline mode. The question papers for the program will contain MCQs (multiple-choice questions) with a total of 100 questions. These need to be completed in 2 hours duration. For programs, such as integrated courses/B.Voc./MBA/MCA/LLB or any other general course(s), there will be only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs. It will comprise of subjects: English Language, Reasoning, Data Interpretations/ Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Analytical Skills.

Central Universities Common Entrance Test or CUCET 2019 is an annual exam scheduled to be take place in June 2019. It is conducted by eight universities for candidates seeking admission to UG/ Integrated, PG and Research Program. CUCET 2019 Exam Pattern in Detail

CUCET 2019 exam is divided into 2 parts, Part A of which comprises 25 questions while Part B comprises 75 questions. Candidates can check below detailed CUCET Exam Pattern 2019.

  • The exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions to be completed in 2 hours.
  • Part A will cover topics from English language, General Awareness. Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Part B is further sub-divided into 3 sections and has 75 MCQs from the domain knowledge.
  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and will be conducted in offline mode.
  • One mark will be awarded for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • If the candidate answers all the questions from all the sections then the best of 3 sections will be considered in the merit list.
  • The question paper will be in English Language only.
  • For combined Courses/MCA/MBA/LLM/LLB or any other normal course(s), only 1 paper will be given, containing 100 MCQs.

Key Points for CUCET 2019 

  1. The above exam pattern is relevant to UG and integrated programs in Science Stream, and PG/B.ED/ Integrated M.Sc B.Ed/ PG Diploma Programs
  2. CUCET 2019 Exam Pattern for Arts stream includes only 1 test paper. The question paper consists of 100 MCQs in the following manner: English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude and General Knowledge.
  3. CUCET Exam Pattern for Research programs is similar to UGC CSIR and other NET JRF exam. PHD program papers consist of two sections. Part A comprises of 50 questions based on research methodology including English and General Knowledge and Numerical ability. Part B consists of 50 questions from the respective subject domain.
  4. CUCET Exam Pattern for B.Ed differs from other courses. However, the number of questions and marking scheme remains the same consisting of 3 sections:
  1. Part A (25 MCQs): General Awareness
  2. Part B (35 MCQs): Teaching Aptitude
  3. Part C (40 MCQs): It is further divided into 4 sub-sections. Candidates have to attempt any one section from them as per the eligibility.

  3. Section 3: Physical Science and Mathematics
  4. Section 4: Life Sciences

CUCET 2019 Marking Scheme

Each answer carries 1 mark and they will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Questions left unanswered will not be assessed or considered. The article will give complete details on the CUCET 2019 exam pattern, marking scheme, syllabus etc.

The candidates will have to choose one correct answer and mark on OMR Sheet. If a candidate marks multiple entries in the OMR Sheet for particular question(s), it will be treated as wrong answer with negative marking.


CUCET 2019 Syllabus

Candidates must follow the syllabus of Class 12 for admission to UG/Integrated courses, while for admission in PG Courses and NET/ JRF research programs, respective UG syllabus should be followed.

CUCET Syllabus for UG/Integrated Programmes (3/4/5 years)

For Part A of CUCET UG courses, there is no definite official syllabus. However, the questions will be asked from the following areas:

  • English Language
  • General Awareness
  • Mathematical Aptitude
  • Analytical Skills

Candidates should refer to any of the following subjects for Part B. The syllabus is based on the general Class 12 level syllabus for the respective courses:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
