  • Total score: Total score is the sum total of the performance of the candidate in the three main sections or three main subjects. The main subjects would be considered on the basis of the score.
  • SMAS (Section- Wise Minimum Admissible Score): As per the directives of NISER to clear the section, the SMAS would be 20% of the average of the best 100 scores of the section. The score will be calculated out of 100 so if the average of best 100 scores in any subject (for instance Biology) is 40 out of 50, SMAS for Biology would be 20% of 40, which is 8. It is mandatory to score equal or more than SMAS in a section if you wish to qualify the section.
  • MAS: MAS is 50% of the total weightage of the exam, students must obtain marks equal or above MAS in order to be considered qualified. The MAS for OBC/General category candidates is 90% and for PWD/SC/T candidates it is 50%.

NEST Counselling

  • In group discussion candidate’s in-depth knowledge is checked.
