NEST Chemistry Section can often prove to be a challenging for aspirants as the syllabus is quite vast. The entire syllabus for Chemistry can be further segregated into 3 units – Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. However, with a well-planned preparation strategy and time bound approach for Chemistry section, candidates should be able to cover all the topics easily.
Like all the other sections, Chemistry will also have only multiple choice questions and the total marks allocated for this section is 50. Preparation for NEST Chemistry Section should focus on both covering important topics as well as practicing sample papers and previous year question papers to increase speed and accuracy. Candidates can refer to few other reference books as well for clearing concepts and doubts even though NCERT Textbooks should be the primary source of preparation.
NEST 2017 is scheduled for May 27, 2017. The last date to apply for NEST Exam is March 06, 2017. With almost 4 months left for the exam, it is the perfect time for candidates to start their preparation.
The syllabus of NEST 2017 Chemistry section is based 10+2 syllabus of NCERT. The entire syllabus is divided into 3 sections viz. Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. Candidates can check below the weightage of all the separate units covered in these 3 sections.
Chemical bonding, Periodic table and p-Block elements are prominent chapters in this respect as they carry the maximum weightage in the exam.
