BCECE 2019 Exam Pattern

BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam) is a state-level entrance exam organized by BCECE board annually, for admission to various professional courses of Medical, Engineering and Agriculture stream in the reputed institutes of Bihar.

BCECE is conducted in two stages Stage - 1 and Stage – 2. Aspirants should have passed class 12th examination from a recognized board of the country, with science stream as a minimum eligibility criterion.

  • BCECE Stage-1is scheduled for third week of April, 2019 while Stage-2 will be held in the third week of May, 2019.
  • It is an offline exam i.e. pen and paper-based.
  • Total duration for Stage-1 is 2 hours 15 minutes while 1 hour 30 minutes will be allotted for Stage-2.
  • Each stage of examination comprises 4 sections containing objective type (MCQ) questions.
  • BCECE Syllabus includes topics of 10+2 level.
  • 4 marks are awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

BCECE 2019 will be conducted separately for different subject combinations namely, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology). Also, the exam pattern differs in both the stages.

BCECE 2019 Examination Pattern in Detail

BCECE 2019 will be conducted in 2 stages i.e. Stage-1 and Stage-2. Candidates who clear Stage-1 can only appear for Stage-2 exam.

Each stage comprises four sections (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology). The exam will be conducted separately for different sets of subjects’ combination, which are PCB for medical stream candidates, PCM for engineering & technology streams and PCMB for students aspiring to pursue a course in agriculture.

The syllabus will be same as the one released by BCECE for class 12th examination. Any further addition of topics or elimination of topics will be indicated by BCECE in the official syllabus. All candidates are required to study from the chapter-wise syllabus for each subject, released by the admission authority.

BCECE 2019 Stage 1 Examination Pattern

Stage 1 examination will be held in the 3rd week of April, 2019. The examination pattern for the exam is mentioned below.

  • The question paper will consists of four sections (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) depending upon the choice of stream made by the aspirant.
  • Each section comprises of 50 objective (MCQ) type questions.
  • Students are supposed to complete the examination within 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • A total of 150 questions will be asked for a maximum of 600 marks.
  • Four marks are rewarded for every correct answer and one mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • The examination is conducted in offline mode (pen-paper mode).

BCECE 2019 Stage 2 Examination Pattern

Stage 2 examination will be held in the 3rd week of May, 2019. The examination pattern for the exam is given below.

  • Only students qualifying Stage – 1 examination are eligible to appear for the Stage – 2 exam.
  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen- paper mode).
  • It will also consist of four sections each of which will contain100 questions.
  • The exam will be conducted separately for each subject.
  • 1 hour 30 minutes will be given to complete each examination and a 30 minute break will also be given in between each subject examination.
  • Total 300 questions are asked for maximum marks of 1200.
  • For every correct answer, 4 marks will be rewarded and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

BCECE 2019 Marking Scheme

There will be 150 questions in BCECE Stage 1 question paper, of total 600 marks. Each section will carry 200 marks, where 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and one marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

For students appearing in PCMB exam,there will be 200 questions for a total of 800 marks.

BCECE Stage 2 question paper will be for a total of 1200 marks. Exam will be conducted separately for all the subjects. Each subject examination will contain 100 questions of total 400 marks. Students will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted from his/her total score for every wrong answer.

BCECE 2019 Important Instructions

Here are some important instructions for BCECE 2019 that candidates must follow:

  • No candidate will be allowed to appear for the examination without his/her Admit Card and a valid Photo Identity Card (in original).
  • After commencement of examination, no candidate will be permitted to enter the examination center/hall.
  • Once the invigilator has verified BCECE Admit Card 2019 of the candidate, he/she must sign on the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.
  • Do not damage the OMR Sheet. It must be kept in the excellent conditions, as your paper will be checked by that OMR Sheet only.
  • Any kind of damage to the OMR Sheet may lead to direct disqualification.
  • In the examination hall, candidates should follow all the instructions given by the invigilators.
  • Any candidate indulging in any argument with the invigilators or other staff involved in the examination duty at the examination center, will be treated as Unfair Means and his/her result will not be declared.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic device (Mobile, Bluetooth, Pager, etc.) and study material (Test Series, Books, Model Papers, etc.) in the examination hall.
