MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern details will be released by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra. MHT CET 2019 exam will be different for the pharmacy and engineering aspirants. Although no significant changes are expected in the MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern, but on the basis of MHT CET 2018 exam, some changes are expected.

Some quick pointers on MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern which will also give you a brief about the exam syllabus are as follows:

  • MHT CET 2019 will be conducted in the offline mode in a pen- paper based format.
  • Total time duration is 90 minutes for MHT CET exam.
  • There will be 3 sections in the exam, with each section/paper carrying 100 marks.
  • Students who wish to pursue career in Pharmacy must appear for Paper 2 and can choose between paper 1 and paper 3.
  • The question paper will be published in English, Marathi or Urdu language.
  • Engineering aspirants must keep in mind that mathematics paper will be published in English language only.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • MHT CET 2019 Syllabus will be exactly same as defined for Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education.
  • 20% weightage is given to the class 11 curriculum and 80% weightage to class 12 curriculum. 
  • Every section will contain 40 questions from class 11 syllabus and 10 questions from class 12 syllabuses.
  • Application based questions will be asked in MHT CET 2019 exam.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern in Detail

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern is defined clearly for each of the sections/ exam papers. The questions are defined for each section separately. Every paper will have unique questions and no mix questions as specific papers are defined for each section. Every paper will contain 50 questions for every subject defined in the particular paper respectively.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern for Mathematics/ Paper 1:

  • A total of 50 questions with 10 questions defined from class 11 syllabus and 40 questions defined from class 12 syllabus.
  • MCQ type application based questions.
  • Paper will be printed in English language only.
  • Paper will be conducted between 10.00 am- 11.30 am.
  • +2 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern for Physics and chemistry/ Paper 2:

  • 100 questions in total with 50 questions defined from physics syllabus and 50 from chemistry syllabus.
  • MCQ type problem based questions.
  • Time slot for paper 2 is 12.30 PM to 2.00 PM.
  • Paper will be printed in English, Urdu and Marathi language.
  • +1 mark awarded for every correct answer.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern for Zoology and Botany/ Paper 3:

  • 100 questions in total with 50 defined for each section.
  • MCQ type questions.
  • Paper 3 time slot is 3.00pm to 4.30 pm.
  • Paper will be available printed in English, Urdu and Marathi language.
  • +1 mark awarded for every correct answer.

MHT CET 2019 Marking Scheme

MHT CET 2019 Marking Scheme is different for each paper. Students must check the marking scheme defined for every paper.

MHT CET 2019 marking scheme for Mathematics/ paper 1:

  • 2 marks are awarded for every correct answer.
  • No negative marking.
  • No marks awarded/deducted for un-attempted questions.

MHT CET 2019 making scheme for Physics and Chemistry/ paper 2:

  • 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer.
  • No negative marking for incorrect answer.
  • No marks awarded/deducted for un-attempted questions.

MHT CET 2019 Instructions

How to handle OMR Sheet?

  • Students need to fill their complete name using the HB pencil and fill the bubbles as well using the same.
  • If your name has parts, such as first, middle and last name, then leave space between them as follows:

  • Bubbles must be marked corresponding to each alphabet vertically as below:

  • Name and complete address has to be filled in black ball point pen in capital letters. The address must be correct as the same will be used for communicating information if needed.

  • Students must fill the complete name of the college in capital letters and space must be maintained between the words, while writing the name, as follows:

  • Students need to mark answers in the OMR sheet using the black ball point pen.
  • Fill the details on the OMR sheet with the black/blue ball pen.
  • Do not color bubbles with a pencil.
  • Pen must be used for filling the bubbles.
  • Fill the bubble properly so that you do not have to cut or erase it.
  • Color only one bubble corresponding to a question. If more than one bubble is marked the options marked will be considered invalid.
  • The bubbles must be completely filled and not partially else, your answers marked will not be evaluated.
  • If there are more than one correct options marks will be awarded only if all the options have been marked.
  • Options marked with a pencil will not be counted.
  • Bubbles crossed after filling will not be counted.
  • If found any pattern resemblance between two answer sheets of different students sitting near to each other or in the same exam hall, such students will be asked to come for a personal meeting.

General Instructions

  • Bring your own stationery at the exam center.
  • No electronic gadgets can be brought inside the hall.
  • Only analogue watch can be worn in the exam hall.
  • Stop marking answer once the exam time is over.
  •  Coordinate with the invigilator at the time of attendance.
  • Do not talk with other students present in the exam hall.
  • Stay in the exam hall even if your exam is over, till the exam time is over for all the students.
