AIPVT 2017 cancelled, BVSc & AH Admission through NEET Scores

The Veterinary Council of India, VCI has issued a public notice notifying the cancellation of AIPVT Exam for the current year. Following the cancellation, admission to all the participating Veterinary Colleges will be done through NEET. VCI plans to use NEET 2017 Scores for 15% Seats on all India basis, claiming the reasons administrative.

NEET 2017 is scheduled on May 07, 2017. The exam will be conducted in offline (pen and paper based) mode. However, the counselling and allocation of seats will be conducted by Veterinary Council of India. VCI will allocate seats of recognized Veterinary Colleges (except Jammu and Kashmir) for BVSc & AH courses under 15% All India Quota.

With the news confirmed by Dr. HK Muniyellappa, Secretary, VCI in a public notice, candidates have less than 2 days to register for NEET 2017. The Registration for NEET 2017 ends on March 01, 2017. The Result for the NEET Written Test will be announced in last week of June, 2017. The Counselling for All India Seats for MBBS/BDS Courses will be done by MCC. However, the counselling for Veterinary Seats (BVSc & AH) will be done by VCI.

NEET 2017

Following the monumental decision of Supreme Court in June, 2016 to make NEET 2017 as a single tier medical exam, NEET would be conducted for admission to medical & dental colleges across India. The Counseling will be done be MCC for All India Quota (except J&K, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh) and State medical bodies for seats under State Quota. As of February 27, 2017, NEET 2017 has seen more than 600,000 applications from eligible candidates. With the judgement of VCI to scrap AIPVT 2017, the registrations for NEET 2017 is expected to shoot even higher.
