Applied for NEET? Don't Forget to Carry these documents at Exam Center

CBSE has scheduled NEET 2018 for May 6 in offline mode. With that, to ensure a smooth and transparent conduct of the exam, the coordinating body instructs candidates to bring several documents on the exam day. The documents assist in verifying the identity of the applicants and approve their candidature in NEET 2018.

The registration window for the exam was functional from February 8 – March 9, 2018. Candidates who entered, uploaded the documents as per specifications and paid application fee can download their NEET Admit Card from April 17.

When it comes to NEET, the most important and popular question that pops up in a candidate mind is ‘Documents. ‘Are there any documents that are Required at the examination center?’. The following article informs you about the same.

NEET 2018 – Documents Required at Exam Center

CBSE has clearly mentioned in the official e-brochure about all the documents that one needs to carry on the exam day. Mentioned below are the names of the documents – 

NEET Admit Card – Released

CBSE issues the document to all the successfully registered candidates. For the academic session 2018-19, it is expected to be available in the month of April 2018. It is a mandatory document that must be carried at all the stages of NEET 2018 including exam day, AIQ (All India Quota) & State counselling and Admission processes of various institutes. Aadhar Card (UID)

Aadhar Card is the most important document that one must present at the time of examination. The main purpose of is to support/ verify the details already present in the admit card.

Aadhar Number is a twelve digit unique number issued to Indian Citizens on the basis of their biometric and demographic data. As of February 2017, 92.3% of total population of India have Aadhar Number. Considering its success and acceptance at such a large scale, CBSE made Aadhar Card mandatory for the medical examination.

Passport Size Photograph

Along with both the documents mentioned above, candidates are also required to carry multiple passport size photographs to NEET exam center. Photographs must be same as used in Application Form.

The purpose behind photographs at exam center is for documentation process. An attendance sheet for appeared candidates and requires candidates’ photograph for the same. This is done to ensure clarity and transparency in the process. CheckNEET Photo and Signature Specification

What not to bring at the Exam Centre?

Apart from the documents listed above, there are few things/ objects that are prohibited at the examination venue. They are as follows:

  • Electronic Devices – mobile phone, calculators, calculator watches and other such electronic devices are banned.
  • Rough Paper –  candidates are provided with sheets for rough work and hence CBSE does not allow any type of paper inside the exam hall.
  • Wallet or Purse –  candidates are not allowed to carry their wallets inside the test venue.
  • Stationary – candidates will be provided with all the required stationery like Blue/ Black ball point pen at the exam center only. 

Note – The authorities will not hold any responsibility in case of any loss of material of a candidate. Hence, it is suggested to make proper preparations prior to NEET Exam.


There are few guidelines for candidates to be followed on the test day. These guidelines ensure that the entire examination procedure concludes properly. They are as follows:

  • Reach the test venue 90 minutes prior to the exam.
  • Check the seating arrangement and note down your room number.
  • Exiting the hall before the conclusion of the exam is not allowed.
  • Do not bring anything that might result in cancellation of candidature.

NEET 2018 Exam Day Schedule 

  • The entry in examination hall begins from 7:30 AM
  • Checking of Admit Cards by the invigilator starts from 7:30 AM to 9:45 AM
  • Distribution of Test Booklet starts from 9:45 AM
  • Seal of the Test Booklet to be broken/ opened to take out Answer Sheet from 9:55 AM
  • Latest Entry in NEET Exam Hall is by 9:30 AM
  • NEET Exam Commences from 10:00 AM
  • NEET Exam Concludes on 01:00 PM

About NEET

National Entrance Eligibility Test has become the most sought-after national medical entrance exam. Admissions to all medical colleges across India (except AIIMSs and JIPMER) will accept NEET Scores for MBBS Admission 2018-19.

Accepted by more than 90% of medical seats in India, NEET 2018 is expected to cater more than 12,00,000 medical aspirants this year. With the limited number of Medical Seats and such a huge number of aspirants, the chances of success in NEET 2018 would be less than 7%.
