Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati is a medical institution of repute offering undergraduate programs to NEET qualified candidates. How to Get Admission in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH)?

Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati is a premier institution of medical education in the state of Assam. The college has got affiliation from Gauhati University. The college has earned a prestigious status in the country for its outstanding academic performances. The college enrolls 156 students every year for MBBS course. The course structure for MBBS is as per the guidelines of MCI and admissions will only be made on the successful clearance of NEET 2018.

Gauhati Medical College Admission Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
  • Age Limit: Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31, 2017. The upper age limit for admission seekers under All India Quota is 25 years. Candidates under SC/ST/OBC category are offered a relaxation for a period of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Essential Academic Qualification: Candidates passing the HSC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects with English as a core subject securing a minimum of 50%. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates, there is a relaxation of 10%. Physically handicapped candidates have to secure a minimum of 45%. Aspirants who have appeared in 10+2 examination in 2018 may also appear provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later on.

If two or more candidates have equal score in NEET 2018, preference will be given to

  • Candidate having higher marks in Biology in NEET 2018.
  • Candidate having higher marks in Chemistry in NEET 2018.
  • Candidate older in age.

The college focuses on imparting high-class medical training to 156 students who get enrolled here. Candidates declared successful in counselling are offered admission. Successful students have to report the college on the provided date with all the necessary documents.
