    NEET Chemistry Paper Analysis

The chemistry section of NEET 2019 will have 45 multiple-choice questions, with a total maximum score of 180 marks; each correct answer carrying 4 marks while each wrong answer attracting a penalty of -1 mark. Questions that are not attempted or questions with two options marked as answer will be awarded 0. Since the exam is an offline one, students will have to mark their answers properly in an OMR sheet with blue/black ball point pen. Read More NEET Paper Analysis.

    • NEET 2018 question paper posed more number of questions from Organic Chemistry than Inorganic Chemistry, breaking the pattern of many years.
    • Examinees were of the opinion that the questions covering class XI syllabus were not very tough but the ones from class XII syllabus were very tricky.
    • The questions were mostly conceptual and candidates were to apply their knowledge of basic concepts to solve problems in the paper.

An analysis of past NEET Question Papers reveal that s-block, p-block, d-block & f-block are the common topics while special reactions in organic chemistry also deserve a special mention. Given the trend set by NEET 2018, students appearing for NEET 2019 should expect maximum number of question from Organic Chemistry. Experts suggest that the following topics be given precedence at the time of exam preparation.

    • Organic Chemistry
    • Coordination Compounds
    • Chemical Bonding
    • Carbonyl Compounds

Here follows an expected topic-wise most frequently asked questions and their corresponding percentage in NEET Chemistry.
