BJMC, Ahmedabad Admission Eligibility Criteria

Prospective students for the undergraduate course must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
  • Age Limit: Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31, 2017. The upper age limit for admission seekers under All India Quota is 25 years relaxable for a period of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Essential Academic Qualification: Candidates who have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology individually securing a minimum of 50% in 10+2 is eligible. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), there is a relaxation of 10% so they have to secure a minimum of 40% to be eligible. General physically handicapped candidates have to secure a minimum of 45%. Aspirants who are appearing in 10+2 examination in 2017 may also appear provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later on.

About Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Medical School came into existence in 1871 and it became affiliated with the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. In 1897, Sir Byramjee Jeejeebhoy donated a significant amount of money and the college was renamed after him as Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical School. The school grew and achieved higher status to become a college. The college is affiliated to Gujarat University and offers medical courses at graduation as well as post-graduation level. The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. The campus also houses different hostels for boys and girls with mess facility and canteen as well.
