Was it Lalit’s first attempt at NEET?
NEET 2019 was his first attempt at the exam. Lalit says that he started preparing for NEET as he stepped into Class XI. For the preparation of NEET 2019, he took coaching at Allen’s Jaipur center. After two years of dedicated hard work, he reached where he is today..
What made Lalit go for NEET 2019?
Lalit says that during the last 6 months of his Class 10th he was confused with regard to choosing between Engineering and Medicine. He then assessed his interest and preference for Biology as a subject over Mathematics and thus opted for Medicine and NEET was the obvious and logical next step.
What preparation strategy did Lalit adopt for the exam?
Lalit says that NCERTs are the core of NEET preparations. He advises all the future aspirants to go through the class XI and XII NCERT for all the three major subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. He adds that preparation for NEET and class 12th board exams are in no way different, just the nature of questions differ. He adds that a good preparation for NEET will certainly lead to good results in board exams.
Coaching Vs Self Study, what helped him more?
As per Lalit, coaching is not essential if one is aiming just to qualify the NEET exam. He suggests that coaching is beneficial if one wants to get a good rank and want to be in the top 10 or 50 candidates. He further adds that self-study has no substitute whether you take coaching or otherwise.
What was the role of Mock Tests and Previous Years Question Papers in his success?
Lalit says that Mock Tests and Previous year papers are a must for every aspirant, it helps the candidate in assessing the preparation level. He believes the mocks and previous year question papers are a good source to understand the paper pattern, important topics, difficulty level et cetera. Lalit adds that mock tests and question papers absolutely can not be left out during the preparation process.
What topics as per Lalit should one prioritize while preparing for the Paper?
He gave subject-wise preference while setting the order of study and priority during preparations. He says that Biology being at the core of NEET exam was first on his preference list followed by Physics and Chemistry. He adds that prioritization shall be done based on syllabus analysis; previous years question analysis and one’s own strengths and weaknesses.
What was the most difficult aspect of NEET Preparation for him?
Lalit says that time management during preparation is the most difficult part especially for the ones who are preparing with regular schooling. Balancing amongst school, coaching, self study, travelling and other daily routine activities gets chaotic.
Any particular strategy that he followed while attempting the NEET 2019 Paper?
Lalit says that he didn’t go by a specific strategy in the paper. He planned to attempt the paper as per his strength in different sections. He placed the subjects in order his hold and clarity of topics in relation to the particular subject.
