How to Get Admission in Govt Medical College, Palakkad?

The Human Development Index in the country rose by 21% in 2011. Kerala is placed on top of the Index for achieving the highest literacy rate, quality health services and consumption expenditure of people. Delhi, Himachal and Goa are placed at 2nd, 3rd and 4th position. The Education Index of Kerala is 0.92 and the Health Care Index is 0.8.

It is said good governance and social mobilization by the State Government is reflected by the fact that the members belonging to the Scheduled Caste and backward communities in Kerala are better off than the general population of many states such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh in terms of various health outcome indicators.

Admission to MBBS/BDS Course -

a. Marks obtained in Math are not considered for admission into the MBBS course.

b. Note that in a non-governmental institute, 50% of the seats will be filled by management of the institute. Academic merit should be considered while granting admission under management quota. Rest 50% seats will be filled by competent authority based on the academic merit of the candidate.

c. Academic merit of a candidate will be determined based on the performance in competitive exam conducted by the state government or competent authority or centralized competitive exam conducted at the national level.

d. Candidate must score at least 50% marks in the competitive exam. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the minimum percentage required is 40%.

e. For post-graduation courses, performance in first, second and MBBS exam can be considered to determine the academic eligibility of the candidate.

The successful candidate who satisfies the eligibility and qualifying criteria will be offered admission subject to the verification and submission of the necessary documents on the prescribed date.
