Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has started Punjab MBBS counselling 2020. NEET 2020 qualified candidates who have applied for the round 1 and 2 counselling can check their result online. After the conclusion of round 1 from a total of 1425 seat, 441 seats were declared vacant. Also, as per reports around 88 MBBS and 479 BDS seats are still left vacant after round 2 for which the authority might conduct the round 3 of counselling. Moreover, some of the BDS colleges in the state are now offering discounts on tuition fees to students to fill the vacant seats.

MBBS admissions in Punjab State is conducted based on NEET scores. NEET is now the only central medical entrance exam across the country. Candidates can also participate in Punjab NEET Counselling under 15% AIQ seats.

Eligibility Criteria for Counselling
The conducting body has set standard eligibility criteria for the final admissions into the various medical colleges of Punjab. Listed below are the criteria that a candidates needs to meet before applying for admissions:
- On the basis of Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2020
- On the basis of Education: Candidate should have completed their class XII or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects
- On the basis of Academic Scores: Candidates should have secured an aggregate score of least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For candidates of the SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum eligible score is 40%.
- On the basis of NEET Score: Below are the qualifying scores for NEET for students of each category:

Domicile: Candidates must be residents of the Punjab State. They should have acquired the last two years of their qualification in a Punjab institution. Wards of Govt. /State/Defense/Military personnel are also eligible. Candidates who have studied in educational institutions in Chandigarh are also eligible.
Punjab NEET Counselling Application Procedure
The application forms for the Punjab MBBS Admissions will be available in the month of July 2020. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria for admissions to the various colleges before applying. Candidates would be needed to participate in the counselling process for admission to these MBBS colleges.
Candidates may refer to the following points for the admission procedure:
- Candidates need to register for Punjab MBBS Admissions 2020 using their NEET score.
- Candidates need to pay the registration fee.
- After paying the fee, candidates need to fill the same details which they had filled while registering for NEET 2020
- Candidates need to fill their personal details and educational details.
- After that, candidates can fill the the maximum number of preferences of colleges
- Candidates need to take the printout of the application form.
Application Fee is INR 1500/- which can be remitted via online (net banking) or offline (Challan through Oriental Bank of Commerce or HDFC Bank) mode .
NEET Counselling Procedure
Candidates who have secured qualifying marks in NEET 2020 will be called for the counselling. Online counselling will be conducted from June 19 – July 13, 2020. The preparation of the merit list and the allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the NEET scores. Candidates willing to participate in the counselling procedure are required to pay a counselling fee.
After seat allotment, candidates need to report physically at the allotted college for document verification and fee payment.

- 10th class certificate
- 12th class certificate
- NEET 2020 Admit card
- NEET 2020 Score Card
- Punjab Resident Certificate
- Category Certificate
- Challan Receipt
There will be three rounds, out of which 2 are online rounds and one is a spot round. Candidates will need to be present physically for the admission. After verification, the principal of the respective college would issue a bank challan for the deposition of the tuition fee in any branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce/HDFC Bank.
In case the candidate wants to change the allotted college, they would need to participate in the next counselling round. In case the candidate wants to switch the course or seat, they would need to submit an application to the respective college before getting a seat in next counselling.
Reservation of Seats in Punjab Counselling
Out of all the seats, 15% are reserved for the All India quota, and are filled through a centralized counselling process conducted by the CBSE on the basis of the NEET 2020 scores. The remaining 85% seats would be filled through State- level counselling. While taking admission, candidates need to submit their authentic category certificates.
