NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
CBSE conducts the NEET for MBBS/ BDS admissions on a PAN (India) basis. The NEET 2017 is the unified medical entrance exam for medical/ dental colleges across India. The medical colleges of Tripura will accept NEET 2017 scores for admission to the offered seats. 15% of the total seats will be open to All India candidates and 85% seats will be reserved under the State Quota.
The result of NEET 2017 will be declared on June 8, 2017. On the basis of the NEET score, a merit list will be prepared proportionate to the number of seats available for allotment in MBBS/BDS courses. The NEET Counselling will tentatively start in July 2017 after the declaration of the NEET 2017 Result. The admission procedure will start following the announcement of the NEET 2017 Results.
• MBBS merit list will be declared on June 8, 2017
• Application form for Tripura NEET Counselling will be available in the month of June.
• All NEET with a domicile of origin in Tripura are eligible for counselling. They must produce theTripura Residence Certificate at the time of counselling.
• Counselling fee is INR 3000/- for General category and INR 750/- for Reserved categories candidates
• 3 medical colleges in Tripura accepting NEET 2017 Scores are Tripura Medical College, RMIS and Agartala Government Medical College
• There is a total of 186 MBBS seats in Tripura.
Candidates participating in the Tripura MBBS Admission 2017-18 must fulfill certain eligibility criteria. Though the criteria vary with each institute, they all more or less dovetail with the NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria.
Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.
Education: Candidates must have completed their higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized institute.
Qualifying Marks: To be eligible for the MBBS Admission, candidates must have passed individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
General- Aggregate of minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
SC/ST/OBC/PH- Aggregate of minimum 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Domicile: Candidates should have the domicile certificate of Tripura.
After the declaration of the NEET 2017 Result and of the NEET 2017 Cut off, the candidates will have to participate in the NEET 2017 Counselling. The admission to 15% All- India seats is done by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Sciences, after the NEET 2017 Result Declaration. Qualifying candidates can register for NEET 2017 Counselling by following the steps given below. The Tripura MBBS 2017 Merit List will be declared by the 5th Week of June 2017.
Online Registration: Candidates have to register for the NEET 2017 Counselling online. Candidates are needed to mention their roll number, name, date of birth, mobile number etc. Upon the completion of the registration, a unique Login ID & password for the candidate will be communicated to the registered mobile number & email ID.
Choice Filling and Locking: Candidates are required to make a choice of their desired courses & colleges. After mentioning the preferences of courses & colleges, candidates are required to lock their choices.
Seat Allotment: Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of their ranks in the NEET and choices filled during the online registration for counselling process. It is conducted in three rounds:
Candidates who successfully secure qualifying marks in the NEET 2017 will be called for the counselling of Tripura MBBS Admission 2017. Online counselling (85% Seats) will be conducted for admission in MBBS courses by the Tripura Medical council.
Seat Allotment will be based on the merit list and the choices entered by the candidates during the NEET 2017 Counselling. Following the allotment of seats, candidates would be needed to report to the allotted college for document verification and payment of fees. The following documents need to be brought to the allotted institute for verification purposes.
After verification of all the documents and eligibility, the candidates will be issued a Bank Challan for deposition of the tuition fee. The fee can be paid at any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce or HDFC Bank. After depositing the tuition fee, candidate will again be needed to report to the college for the joining and medical checkup.
Seat Upgrade: In case the candidate wants to change/ upgrade their seat, they will have to participate in the subsequent round of counselling and give their preferences afresh for the college/course/category/quota.
Note: In case the seat of the candidate is upgraded/ changed in the subsequent round of counselling and they have already deposited the fee, they are not required to deposit the fees again, unless they are needed to deposit any difference in the fee, if any.
Seat Surrender: If any candidate wants to quit the course/ seat, they will need to submit the application to the respective college. Also, the application should be sent to the relevant university regarding their surrender. The application should be sent well in advance before the start of the next round of the NEET 2017 Counselling.
