TS LAWCET 2019 Tie-Breaking Criteria

A tie in TS LAWCET exam is a condition where two or more than two candidates have obtained same marks or similar marks. As there is no chance of loss of marks because of negative marking, so the chances of a tie are frequent and easy to occur.

The tie-breaking strategy has thus been devised so that, a predefined process is followed while allotting rank to the candidates. The tie-breaking criteria cannot be challenged by any candidate as this is accepted under the education law of the state of Telangana.

  1. In case two or more candidates have obtained equal marks in TS LAWCET 2019, then their marks in section C will be compared. One with higher marks will be given the lower rank or better rank.
  2. In case, the tie still exists, then marks obtained in section B by the candidates will be compared.
  3. Even if the tie remains, then all the students with same marks will be combined together at the time of counselling and higher rank will be given to the candidate younger in age, thus better rank or preferred rank or lower rank is given to the candidate older in age.
