Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is the single unified entrance test for 19 NLUs and other law schools accepting CLAT scores. Aspirants seeking admissions to LLB and LLM Program across India can apply online on the official website of exam. CLAT 2019 is expected to be conducted by NLU Odisha, Cuttack on May 12, 2019 through computer-based mode.

A mere 8000 candidates appeared for the national level law entrance examination in 2008. In 2017, nearly 50000 candidates sat for it. The number is expected to increase in the coming years. This year, NLU Odisha, Cuttack is expected to organize the exam on May 12, 2019

  • On the whole, there are approximately 780 seats available for LLM Program by the National Law Universities.
  • CLAT Scores are also considered by various private law colleges and government undertaking colleges across the country.

CLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Program

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi will define the eligibility criteria for the PG Program. A brief about the same is listed below:

Academic Qualification

  • Minimum percentage of marks required in the qualifying examination (3 year LLB, 5-year Integrated LLB/ any other equivalent exam) is as under:
  1. 55% marks for Unreserved/ OBC/ SAP and other categories and
  2. 50% marks for SC/ ST categories
  • Candidate must have passed/ appeared in the final year examination of the qualifying examination on the date of his/ her admission.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination must submit his/ her final result of the examination within the provided time frame by the respective University.

There is no upper age limit prescribed by the authorities for appearing in CLAT LLM 2019.

CLAT 2019 Registration for LLM Program

The application form is available online in the month of November 2019. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official website i.e. A stepwise procedure to fill the online form is as follows:

Step 1 – Filling Basic Information

Visit CLAT Official Website and Click ‘Apply Online’. Register as a new user and enter your Name, Email ID, Mobile No. and captcha code. A provisional Registration No. and Password is sent on the registered ID and Mobile No., use the credentials to log in to access CLAT Application Form.

Step 2 – Scanning and Uploading of Document

In this step, scan and upload your photograph and signature as per the specifications defined by NUALS Kochi.

Step 3 – Fill CLAT Application Form

Now, fill in all the sections as per the given order. Listed below are the sections in the online LLM Form:

Personal Details – selecting gender, nationality, state of domicile, nativity etc.

Qualification Details – enter year of passing, board name, marks and percentage etc.

 Preference of NLU – choosing the National Law University as per your preference.

Fee Details – making the payment as per your category via online or offline mode.
