CLAT PG 2019 Admit Card, Dates, Syllabus, Result and Cut Off

Common Law Admission Test or CLAT LLM, a postgraduate entrance test, is scheduled to be conducted on May 26, 2019. The admit card for the same will be available for download from May 10, 2019 (tentatively).

CLAT LLM is the single unified entrance test for 21 NLUs and other law schools accepting CLAT scores. Aspirants seeking admissions to LLB and LLM Program across India can apply online on the official website of exam. CLAT 2019 is conducted by NLU Odisha, Cuttack through OFFLINE mode. In 2008, around 8000 students appeared for the exam whereas in 2017, the number increased to 50,000 students. This is a huge jump in itself and the number is expected to increase in the coming years.

  • On the whole, there are approximately 780 seats available for LLM Program by the National Law Universities.
  • CLAT Scores are also considered by various private law colleges and government undertaking colleges across the country.
  • The CLAT LLM Exam Pattern includes 150 MCQs and 50 essay-type questions.
  • All Indian Nationals/ NRIs/PIOs/OCIs who want to take admission to LLM in India have to appear for CLAT 2019 exam. 
  • For CLAT LLM Syllabus, it will be of graduate level i.e. whatever the law graduates studied in their Bachelors.

CLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria for LLM Program

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi will define the eligibility criteria for the PG Program. A brief about the same is listed below:

Academic Qualification

  • Minimum percentage of marks required in the qualifying examination (3 year LLB, 5-year Integrated LLB/ any other equivalent exam) is as under:
  1. 55% marks for Unreserved/ OBC/ SAP and other categories and
  2. 50% marks for SC/ ST categories
  • Candidate must have passed/ appeared in the final year examination of the qualifying examination on the date of his/ her admission.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination must submit his/ her final result of the examination within the provided time frame by the respective University.

There is no upper age limit prescribed by the authorities for appearing in CLAT LLM 2019.

CLAT 2019 Registration for LLM Program

The application form is available online in the month of November 2019. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official website i.e. clat.ac.in. A stepwise procedure to fill the online form is as follows:

  • Read the instructions carefully before filling the application form. Any mismatch between the details filled in the application form and in the original documents will lead to cancellation of the application form.
  • Check all the spellings of the names in the application form. No editing can be done once the candidate submits the application form.
  • The candidates have to fill in their preference order for all 21 NLUs at the time of filling the application form.
  • All documents uploaded must be in PDF format.

Step 1 – Filling Basic Information

Visit CLAT Official Website and Click ‘Apply Online’. Register as a new user and enter your Name, Email ID, Mobile No. and captcha code. Upon registration, an OPT will be sent to the candidate using which the candidate has to re-login and access their CLAT Application Form.

Documents Required

  1. Recent passport size photograph with a plain background
  2. Signature of the candidate
  3. Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC)
  4. Category Certificate (for PWD/BPL Category/State of Domicile) 

Step 2 – Scanning and Uploading of Document

In this step, scan and upload your photograph and signature as per the specifications defined by NUALS Kochi.

Step 3 – Fill CLAT Application Form

Now, fill in all the sections as per the given order. Listed below are the sections in the online LLM Form:

Personal Details – selecting gender, nationality, state of domicile, nativity etc.

Qualification Details – enter year of passing, board name, marks and percentage etc.

 Preference of NLU – choosing the National Law University as per your preference.

Fee Details – making the payment as per your category via online mode:

Pay INR 4,000 as application fee for general/ OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI category

Pay INR 3,500 as application fee for SC/ST/BPL category

CLAT 2019 Admit Card for LLM Program

CLAT LLM 2019 Admit Card is scheduled to release on May 10, 2019 (tentatively). The candidates can check the admit card using their Registration Number and Password from the official website. 

Follow the mentioned steps for downloading the admit card:

STEP 1. Visit the official website of CLAT 2019 i.e. clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in

STEP 2. Click on the link provided for downloading the admit card. 

STEP 3. Fill the details – Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth

STEP 4. Click on ‘Print’

While going to take the exam, in addition to the admit card, also take along a photocopy of residence proof with you.

CLAT 2019 Result and Counselling for LLM Program

CLAT Result is announced around 15 days after the exam takes place. Declaration of the result is tentatively scheduled for June 08, 2019. 

Ater CLAT Result 2019, the last step in the admission of CLAT 2019 is Centralized Online Counseling procedure. CLAT Counseling every year is conducted by CLAT Consortium Office.

  • The allotment of seats is done on the basis of merit cum preference basis. 
  • Online counselling starts soon after the CLAT 2019 Result is declared.
