    CLAT 2014 Cut Off –  The Common Law Admission Test or CLAT 2014 was conducted on May 11, 2014 (3 pm to 5 pm). GNLU Gandhinagar, conducting body, released CLAT Result on May 31, 2014 at The cut offs were released separately by all the participating NLUs (National Law Universities). 

    Latest Updated – CLAT 2018 will be conducted online by NUALS Kochi on May 13. Know more

    Factors affecting CLAT Cut off

    The cut offs for any exam is prepared on the following grounds/ factors:

    1. Number of test takers
    2. Difficulty level of the examination
    3. Previous year cut off trends
    4. Number of seats offered
    5. Reservation Policy for the exam. CheckCLAT Reservation 

    CLAT 2014 Exam Analysis

    As per the experts and many test takers, CLAT 2014 was largely on the expected lines. The paper pattern was somewhat similar to the last year. However, the level of difficulty was less as compared to that of last year. The analysis is as follows:

    English Section

    • The section was amongst the easiest one amongst all the 5 sections.
    • There was only one reading comprehension followed by 10 questions.
    • There were 5 questions from Idioms and Phrases which were quite tricky.
    • 4 questions each were on Para Jumbles and Legal Maxims which were not very difficult.

    Logical Reasoning

    The section was touted amongst another easy section. Breaking away from the traditions, the questions were majorly dominated by mathematical questions.

    Elementary Mathematics

    The questions in this section were direct and required the application of basic concepts to arrive at the correct answer. 

    Overall the level of difficulty was fairly easy.

    General Knowledge and Current Affairs

    If we compare CLAT 2013 with this year’s paper, the questions were quite easy. Questions were a mix static GK and Current Affairs. 

    Legal Aptitude

    The questions in this section were mostly from legal principles namely Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law and Criminal Law etc. There were no questions from legal knowledge, intellectual property or international law. 

    Overall, this section was on the lengthy and time-consuming side.

    • There were no major questions from Verbal Reasoning topic.
    • Questions such as Statement-Assumption, Arguments were also not asked.
    • Questions from Directions, Arrangements, Blood Relations, Series, and Syllogisms were asked.
    • There were few questions from Probability as well.
    • Majorly the questions from Arithmatics followed by Algebra and Number System.

    About CLAT 2018

    The Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is a national level entrance examination. It is conducted on rotational basis by the NLUs to provide admissions to 3 year LLB, 5 year Integrated LLB and LLM Programs. 

    CLAT 2018 is scheduled for May 13 by NUALS Kochi. Interested candidates can apply online before March 31 at The syllabus and paper pattern is expected to be similar to that of last year. Know moreCLAT 2018
