CLAT 2018 Official Notification released by NUALS, Kochi

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi has released the official notification for CLAT 2018. The law entrance test is scheduled for May 13 from 3 to 5 pm. The registration window will become functional from January 1.

CLAT 2018 Exam Dates

This year, it is expected that more than 50,000 candidates will register for the law entrance examination. NUALS Kochi has released the official schedule for the LLB and LLM exam. Tabulated below are the same:

CLAT Eligibility 2018

The eligibility criteria requires a candidate to fulfil various standards to apply and thereafter appear for the law entrance exam. The standards will be prescribed by NUALS. 

Eligibility for LLB Program

  • Intermediate graduates with 45% marks (General/ OBC/ SAP) and 40% marks (SC/ ST)
  • As per the notification, there is no age limit to apply online for CLAT 2018.
  • Candidates appearing in qualifying examination in March/ April 2018 can also register. 
Note March/ April 2018 candidates have to produce an evidence of passing the qualifying examination at the time of final seat allotment.

Eligibility for LLM Program

  • Law graduates with 55% marks (General/ OBC/ SAP and other categories) and 50% marks (SC/ST)
  • Candidates must have passed/ appeared in the final semester/ year of the qualifying exam on the date of final admissions. 
  • Candidates who appeared in the quialifying examination, have to submit the final result of examination withing the time frame prescribed by the respective university. Till then such candidates are given provisional admissions.

CLAT Application Form 2018

The application form for legal aptitude test will be available at The form will be available for filling until March 31. Listed below are official information related to CLAT Application Form published by NUALS Kochi.

  • The form can be filled via online mode only
  • Registration needs to be done using your personal email ID and mobile number
  • To register/ fill the application, choose the tab ‘Click Here for new Registration’ and provide your Name, Email-ID and Mobile No. A provisional Registration No. and Password will be issued and will be sent to the registered email and mobile no.
  • Use the provisional credentials to log in to fill the online application.
  • Cross check all the details like names, marks etc before submitting the form. 

CLAT Application Fee

There is a stipulated fee as per candidate’s category that needs to be paid to successfully submit the form. The fee is as follows:

CLAT Exam Pattern 2018

CLAT Exam Pattern for LLB Program

For undergraduate courses, the question paper will contain 5 sections and 200 MCQs. The section wise distribution of questions is mentioned below:

CLAT Exam Pattern for LLM Program

The question paper for postgraduate courses will have a total of 3 sections and 150 multiple choice questions. Distribution of questions in each section is indicated in the table below:

CLAT 2018 Marking Scheme – For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. However, for every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
