CLAT 2019 or Common Law Admission Test 2019 is a national level qualifying exam conducted annually on a rotational basis by the NLUs. It provides admission to candidates seeking admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate law courses such as LL.B and LL.M.  CLAT 2019 is scheduled for May, 2019. Candidates can check some key features of CLAT 2019 which are stated below.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 are as set up by the core committee. Individuals must ensure that they meet the eligibility norms for LLB and LLM courses before filling CLAT Application Form 2019. The eligibility criteria for UG and PG programs are as stated below-

For UG Program

The eligibility criteria of CLAT 2019 for LLB program are given below:

  • Age Limit: The upper age limit is 20 years of age for the categories of UR/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored category as on July 1, 2019. This upper age limit is relaxed up to 22 years of age in case of SC/ ST/ OBC/ SAP category.
  • Academic Qualification: Students must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved category).
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April or May 2019 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2019 provided they can submit the required documents at the time of admission.

For PG Program

The eligibility criteria of CLAT 2019 for LLM program are given below:

  • Age Limit: The upper age limit is not prescribed for post-graduate programs. Individuals of all ages are eligible to give the test.
  • Academic Qualification: Participants must have an LLB or any other equivalent degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% (50% for reserved category).
  • Appearing Candidates: Students who are in the final year of the LLB program can also appear in CLAT 2019 on the condition that they are able to produce required documents at the time of counselling.

CLAT Application Form 2019

CLAT 2019 Application Form will be available from January, 2019 at the official website of CLAT. It can be filled by students interested to pursue the various programs offered by NLUs and other participating institutes. In the application form, students will have to fill up general details like personal information and academic qualifications. CLAT 2019 Registration primarily consists of 3 steps which are given below:

  • Online registration at CAPS (CLAT Application Processing System) in which students have to enter basic details to create candidate’s login account.
  • Fill CLAT 2019 Application form and upload requisite documents.
  • Payment of Application Fee via both offline and online mode.

How to fill CLAT Application Form 2019?

To apply online for the national law entrance exam, students can follow the steps give below:

Step 1: Registration

  • Log on to the official CLAT website i.e.
  • Click on ‘Apply for CLAT 2019 LLB/ LLM program’.
  • Provide basic details about themselves like their name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID.
  • Carefully verify these details and click on ‘Register’.
  • Upon successful registration, they will receive an email and SMS on their registered email ID and mobile number which will have their CAPS User ID and Password.

Step 2: Filling CLAT Application Form 2019

  • Login using CAPS User ID and Password,
  • Search for CLAT Application Form 2019 and provide personal, communication and academic details.
  • Upload scanned images of their recent passport size photograph, signature, Date of Birth certificate (Birth certificate, Class 10 certificate, Aadhaar card, etc.) and Category certificate as per given specifications.
  • On uploading the documents, participants can see the preview of their application form.
  • Go through all the details carefully and click on ‘Submit’.

Step 3: Fee Payment

  • The final step is to pay CLAT 2019 Application Fee.
  • Fees can be submitted through both offline (e-Challan) and online mode (Credit/ Debit card, Net banking).
  • The amount of application fee will vary as per the program and category of applicants.
  • After the payment is successful, students should take a print out of the filled in application form and save it for future reference.

CLAT 2019 Application Fee

Individuals can pay the application fees for CLAT 2019 of INR 4000 for the General category and INR 3500 for Reserved Category which can be submitted via cash, card or net banking. Fees should be paid within stipulated time period otherwise the application will not be considered. The process for paying the fees via each mode is given below:

  • Online mode: Participants can opt for any 1 out of the 3 options- Payment by Net Banking or Debit/ Credit Card.
  • Offline mode: Individuals can also pay by cash by submitting a print out of e-Challan at the respective bank.

CLAT Admit Card 2019

CLAT 2019 Admit Card will be issued to aspirants who have successfully registered for the exam. It will have the details about the candidate such as his Name, Roll number, Date of birth, Time slot and the exam center allotted along with its address. Admit cards should be downloaded from the official website of CLAT.

Steps to download CLAT Hall Ticket 2019 are given below:

  • Log on to the official website of CLAT 2019 i.e.
  • Click on ‘Download CLAT 2019 Admit Card’ in the notification table.
  • They will be redirected to a page wherein they will have to enter their registered email ID and password. Click on ‘Login’
  • Admit card will appear on the screen with all necessary details. These details should be verified and then student must take a print out of it.

CLAT 2019 will be conducted across 138 test centers in India. Aspirants will have to choose their preferred exam center while filling CLAT Application Form 2019 to appear for the online exam. The final center allotted will be printed on the admit cards.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2019

CLAT 2019 will be conducted in the online mode only for a duration of 2 hours. The question paper for LL.B and LL.M courses is set differently. Candidates can check below some of the important highlights of CLAT Exam Pattern 2019.

The question paper for LL.B course will be divided into 5 sections which will have 200 MCQs while for LL.M course, question paper will be divided into 3 sections having a total of 150 MCQs. CLAT 2019 Result

CLAT 2019 Cut Off

Cutoff is the minimum score declared by the institute for admission process. It is calculated considering multiple factors such as availability of seats, average marks scored in the test, difficulty level of the paper and total test population. CLAT Cutoff will be declared by various CLAT Participating institutes individually. CLAT Cut Off forms the basis of CLAT Counselling and Seat Allotment.

CLAT 2019 Counselling

CLAT Counselling 2019 will be held soon after CLAT Result 2019 is declared. It will be conducted on the basis of the candidates' performance in the entrance exam which will be reflected in CLAT 2019 Merit List. Candidates must be present in person to attend the counselling round as per the schedule uploaded on CLAT website. The highlights of CLAT Counselling 2019 are given below:

  • CLAT 2019 counselling will likely begin by the end of May 2019 and will get over by the 4th week of June, 2019.
  • Aspirants will have to indicate their preference of law schools online.
  • A centralized admission process will be conducted for CLAT 2019 and all admissions will be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference.
  • Students must report to the counselling center and submit certain documents for verification.
  • Those who are allotted seats have to deposit INR 50,000 for securing the seat during counselling procedure.
