CLAT is one of the most yearned for law entrance examinations that many students wish to appear after class XII. The journey which began in 2008, today has more than 55,000 students writing the test every year. The aim of the students is to grab a seat in any one of the participating NLUs including Harvard of the East - NLSIU Bangalore.

Managed by The Consortium of NLUs, CLAT 2020 will be conducted on May 10, 2020, the application process for which is open and will last till March 31, 2020.

Major changes have been introduced in CLAT 2020 exam pattern. Students who will be appearing for the examination this year to take admission into various UG and PG courses need to take a note of the following changes:

    1. Number of questions – Earlier the paper comprised of 200 questions that were to be attempted in 120 minutes. With the change in paper pattern, the number of questions have been reduced to 150 (to be attempted in 120 minutes). This change will in turn help students to focus more on questions while attempting and dedicate more time to questions in which they get stuck.
    2. Increase in Comprehension Based questions – CLAT 2020 will carry more comprehension based questions. Aspirants can expect such types of questions from Quantitative Techniques, English, Current Affairs, Deductive Reasoning and Logical Reasoning.
    3. Question format in GK section – General Knowledge section has always played the role of a ‘game changer’. For CLAT 2020, do not expect a large number of questions from static GK. Instead, questions hailing from Current Affairs will rule the section. As per previous trends, 50% to 70% of the questions from the section have come from Current Affairs. The number is expected to rise.

In respect to the changes made in CLAT 2020 exam pattern, the Consortium will be releasing model papers (probably 3 model papers) for registered students in order to provide them a better understanding of the paper and the kind of questions that will be coming in the sections.

The model papers will be released one month before the exam date.
