CLAT Application Form 2019

CLAT Application Form 2019 will be available from January, 2019 till Match, 2019 at the official website of CLAT. Candidates are advised to go through the official notification uploaded on the website i.e. clat.ac.in to know the eligibility criteria and other updates. An LLB degree or equivalent from a recognized university is a requisite to fulfil the minimum eligibility norm for LLM course. For LLB course, students should have qualified 10+2 exam.

CLAT 2019 Application Process is primarily divided into 3 main steps- Registration, Filling CLAT Application Form and Fee Payment. The application fees for General/ OBC/ SAP and other categories are INR 4000 while aspirants of SC/ ST categories have to pay INR 3500 as fee payment. CLAT 2019 is a national level qualifying exam conducted by NLUs on a rotational basis every year. Nearly 3000 seats in the NLUs are filled through CLAT.

CLAT Online Application Processing System (CAPS)

CAPS is an interface for aspirants to interact with CLAT 2019, provided at CLAT website. Through CAPS, a student can:

  • Register and apply for CLAT 2019
  • Check the status of their CLAT Application Form 2019
  • Download CLAT 2019 Admit Card
  • Check and download CLAT Result and Scorecard

A partially filled CLAT Application Form 2019 can also be saved through CAPS. Students can resume the whole process by logging in again. They should not submit the application until it is filled completely as any incomplete application will be rejected.


How to fill CLAT Application Form 2019?

CLAT Application Form 2019 will be available in January, 2019 on the official website i.e. www.clat.ac.in. The application forms can be submitted till March, 2019. CLAT Registration 2019 will be considered complete only after paying the requisite application fees within the stipulated period. CLAT Application Process 2019 comprises 3 main steps- Registration, Filling CLAT Application Form and Paying Application fee.

Pre-requisites for filling CLAT 2019 Application Form

  • Valid email ID and mobile number for registration
  • Mark memos up to graduation level (Class 10, 12 and Graduation degree)
  • Scanned images of Photograph, Signature and DOB certificate (Class 10 certificate, Birth certificate, Aadhaar card, etc.)
  • Soft copy of SAP certificate
  • NRI/ NRI sponsored certificate for supporting claim
  • Category certificate
  • Domicile certificate for consideration under the State quota
  • Details of payment mode

Candidates can fill CLAT 2019 Application Form by following these steps.

Step 1: Registration

  • Go to the official website of CLAT i.e. www.clat.ac.in
  • Click on the link ‘Apply for CLAT 2019 LLB/ LLM Program’ to begin the online registration process.
  • Aspirants should select the option of ‘Register yourself’.
  • The registration form will appear wherein individuals have to provide their name, date of birth, nationality, valid email address and a mobile number for the purpose of registration.
  •  Click on ‘Submit’.
  • Candidates will be assigned CAPS User ID and Password which will be sent to the registered Email ID and Mobile Number within 5 minutes post Registration.
  • Use this password and User ID to login and fill the application form.

Step 2: Filling of Application Form

  • Applicants will see CLAT Application Form 2019 once logged in.
  • They should fill up Personal details, Qualification details, Preferences for NLU, Upload documents and enter Fee details.
  • Participants must upload scanned images of their passport sized photograph (should be taken after January 1, 2019), signature and Date of Birth certificate with the specifications mentioned below.

Note: SC/ ST and SAP category students must also upload a valid certificate to support their claim.

Step 3: Payment of Application Fees

  • Applicants must pay the non-refundable application fees of CLAT 2019 through online or offline mode.
  • Fees can be remitted via Debit/ Credit card, Net Banking or by e-Challan (ICICI bank).
  • Students must enter the required payment details on the bank page, save a soft copy of the receipt of transaction and print it out.
  • After completion of all the above steps, a confirmation page will be generated which should be printed out for future correspondence.

Reasons for Rejection of CLAT 2019 Application Form:

The organizing body might reject CLAT 2019 Application Form due to any of the following reasons:

  • A form without photograph, signature and DOB certificate
  • A form for which fee payment has not been completed
  • If the face of students in the photograph or if signature is unclear in the application, it may be rejected

How to retrieve CLAT 2019 Password?

Students will be assigned CAPS User ID and Password for CLAT 2019 during the registration and application process. In case an individual forgets his password, then he can follow the steps stated below to retrieve it:

  • Log on to the registered individual’s login page and enter your User ID.
  • Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  • Participants should then enter their registered email ID and captcha code given on the page.
  • A link to generate new password will be sent to the individual by email.

CLAT 2019 Application Form FAQs

Ques. What do I need to possess for online CLAT 2019 Registration?
Ans. Students need to have an active e-mail id and a mobile number for online registration process of CLAT 2019. The login credentials will be sent to the email address and mobile number.

Ques. I haven’t received CLAT 2019 user ID or password on my email account and mobile number. What should be done?
Ans. Applicants should wait for 2 hours as there may be a network jam or any server related issue. In case, they don’t receive the login credentials within 24 hours of online registration, then they need to re-register for CLAT 2019 and ensure that they provide correct details.

Ques. How can I remit the application fee for CLAT 2019?

Ans. Candidates can pay CLAT 2019 Application Fee in online mode using debit, credit card, net banking or by cash through e-Challan of ICICI bank.

Ques. What is the application fee for PwD candidates?

Ans. Applicants of General and PwD category need to pay INR 4000 as CLAT Application Fee while SC/ST category candidates have to pay INR 3500.
