NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
CLAT exam is scheduled in May 2017. CLAT is a national level entrance examination conducted for those candidates seeking admission in UG & PG law courses. It is commonly known as “Common Law Admission Test”. CLAT 2017 will be organised by Chankya National Law University, Patna.
CLAT exam is of 2-hour duration. It is a computerised test comprising of 200 objective questions for LLB course and 150 questions for LLM course. CLAT 2017 examination is conducted for both the LLB & LLM courses differently. CLAT syllabus is divided in 5 sections:
The official notification for CLAT 2017 will be released in December, 2016.
English Section tests the candidate’s proficiency in English. This will be done on the basis of, how well does a candidate answers the comprehension based questions and grammar.
This section is divided into 7 various parts such as Reading Comprehension, Synonyms, and Fill in the Blanks, Meaning of Idioms, Sentence Rearrangement, Meaning of Foreign Language and Spelling Check.

The English section is one of the easiest sections. It helps to analyse the candidate’s proficiency in English based on Passages and Grammar. The English section is divided into four types of questions based on comprehension passage, Identifying Grammatical error, Idioms, Migratory words, and Spelling mistakes with some Vocabulary questions.

The questions in English section basically focused on sentence correction which is grammatically incorrect, jumbled sentences, idioms and phrases etc. The passage should be approximately 300-400 words and candidates will answer according to its main theme. The English section is basically divided into four parts named as Vocabulary, Proficiency, Usage Errors and Comprehension.
