    OIL (Oil India Limited), the pioneer national upstream Oil and Gas Company, has released an official notification informing about its current job opening. The opening is for the post of Legal/ Land Officers. Recruitment for the post will be done through CLAT Score 2017.

    CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national level exam. It is conducted rotationally by the NLUs (National Law Universities) for admission in 5 years integrated LLB and LLM programmes. CLAT 2017 is scheduled on May 14, 2017 (03: 00 pm to 05:00 pm). For academic session of 2017- 18, Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU) will conduct the exam.

    Compensation Package

    OIL is known for its best services as well as the tremendous packages it offers to its employees. For this post, the company will post the candidates in Grade “B” in a pay scale Rs. 24,900 – 50,500 (starting Basic Pay of Rs. 24,900). In addition to Basic Pay and DA, executives are entitled for other perquisites & allowances under cafeteria approach.

    As per company rules, benefits an employee is eligible for are as follows:

    • Provident Fund,
    • Gratuity, etc.

    These benefits will be entitled from time to time.

    Selected candidates for the post will be placed as per the requirement of the OIL company. But, candidates will be posted in the offices/ the operational areas of OIL company only.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates wanting to apply for the post will first have to check if they fulfill the minimum eligibility. Criteria is on the basis of academics, age and health.

    On the basis of Qualification

    1. Full time Bachelor’s Degree in LLB or equivalent of minimum 03/05 years’ duration recognised by UGC/AICTE and Bar Council of India.
    2. Minimum of 60% in the Bachelor Degree (full time).
    3. Final year/semester students are also eligible to apply.


    • Percentage of marks would be the aggregate of all semesters irrespective of the norms / system being followed in the institute/university. Rounding off of percentage would not be allowed
    • Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by University / Institute. 

    On the basis of Age

    The age limit criteria are different for all the categories.

    Note:Persons with 40% or more disability only would be eligible for the benefit of reservation to PWD category against identified posts only.


    • Reservations will be as per Government of India directives issued from time to time.
    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL) & PWD categories will need to furnish valid caste certificates & PWD Certificates respectively at the time of interview as per the formats prescribed by Government of India. These formats are being uploaded on OIL’s website and can be downloaded. 
    • The OBC candidates who belong to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for concession admissible to OBC-NCL
    • For getting the benefits of reservation under OBC (NCL) category:

    (i) The name of caste and community of the candidate must appear in the ‘Central list of other Backward Classes’.

    (ii) The candidates must furnish their OBC-NCL certificate as per the latest format prescribed by the Government of India.

    • No change in the community status indicated by a candidate in his/her online application form for this examination will ordinarily be allowed.

    On the basis of Physical Fitness

    As per the standards set by the OIL Medical Board, provisionally selected candidate has to undergo Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME). If a candidate clears the exam and is declared medically fit by OIL Medical Board, then he/ she is eligible to join the company.

    Note:The decision of the OIL Medical Board will be final and binding.

    Selection Process for OIL Post

    Candidates clearing the eligibility criteria should know about the process that will be followed for recruitment to the available post.

    • Eligible candidates will have to appear for CLAT 2017. It is scheduled on May 14, 2017.
    • Candidates will be short listed for the next stage of selection process on the basis of CLAT 2017 scores in order of merit.
    • Candidates are required to qualify in CLAT 2017 and thereafter in the selection process comprising of Group Discussion (GD) / Personal Interview (PI) separately.
    • Candidates, if shortlisted for the next stage of selection process, will be required to bring their original CLAT-2017 score card at the time of GD/PI.

    Note:Please note that for the above recruitment, CLAT 2017 scores will only be valid.

    General Instructions

    Before considering to apply for the job position, a candidate should make sure of the following factors:

    • Only Indian National can apply for the post.
    • Candidature of a registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment process or after recruitment or joining, if any information provided by the candidate is false or is not found to be in conformity with eligibility criteria.
    • The E-mail ID entered in the online application form must remain valid for at least next one year from the date of filling the online application. No change in the E-mail ID will be allowed, once entered. All future correspondence would be sent via E-mail only.
    • Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies will have to produce NOC at the time of GD/PI essentially without which they would not be allowed to appear for the same.
    • If the SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD certificate has been issued in a language other than English/ Hindi, the candidates will be required to submit a self-certified translated copy of the same either in English or Hindi at the time of GD/PI
