NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
Power System Operation Corporation Ltd. (POSOCO) is inviting applications for the post of Executive Trainee (Law) through CLAT LLM paper. There are 4 vacancies in total – 02 posts under unreserved category, 01 posts reserved for SC category and 01 posts for ST category. The pay scale is in the grade of INR 60,000 – 1,80,000 along with other attractive compensation package.
The national level law entrance examination or CLAT exam is conducted by one of the 19 NLUs as per the year of establishment. Registration for POSOCO Recruitment will close on September 15, 2018. Law graduates or equivalent degree holders are eligible to apply for this post.

As the CLAT 2018 Results are released, now the selection procedure will commence. The final selection is done on the basis of scores obtained in the law exam followed by a group discussion and personal interview. Candidates will have an option for appearing the GD/ PI in Hindi or English.

The relaxation/ concessions are defined differently for each category as per the GOI directives. Terms and conditions for the same is given below:

Relaxation/ Concession for J&K Domicile / Ex-Servicemen/ Victims of riots will be subject to submission of Age relaxation cum Domicile certificate /Discharge certificate in the prescribed format issued by a competent authority at time of application and interview, if called for.
Reservation/ Relaxation for OBC (NCL) will be subject to submission of a copy of OBC (NCL) certificate along with NCL declaration in the format prescribed by the GOI for “Appointment to Posts under Govt. of India” from a competent authority at time of application and interview, if called for.
Relaxation / concession for SC/ST will be subject to submission of a copy of SC/ST certificate issued in prescribed format by competent authority at time of application and interview, if called for. There is no reservation for ST. Candidates belonging to ST category can apply subject to meeting General standards of eligibility.
Relaxation / Concession for Persons with Disability is subject to submission of Disability Certificate issued by a Government Medical Board in the format prescribed by Govt. of India, at time of application and interview, if called for.
Candidates having a valid CLAT Scores are eligible to apply for post graduate courses. If a candidate does not have the minimum qualifying marks will not be eligible for the next stage of selection. The minimum marks required in the examination (for admission to LLM/ PG Courses) shall be as per the Qualifying Marks set by CLAT Authorities.
In absence of any Qualifying Marks set by CLAT, the following shall be treated as the Minimum Qualifying Marks in CLAT for consideration of candidates for next stages of selection process in POSOCO:
Unreserved 40% Reserved 30% The selection process will include the marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the CLAT 2018 (for PG), followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview of the qualified candidates who are shortlisted category wise for the GD and interview.
Eligible or qualified candidates will be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their actual marks (Out of 150) in CLAT 2018 for admission into PG courses. Candidates shortlisted for GDPI must submit the documents as may be mentioned in their individual communication to be sent through e -mail/ Candidate login.
There will be no qualifying marks in GD round. Interview will have qualifying marks for different categories as mentioned below.

For calculation of final score for empanelment, the weightages assigned to CLAT 2018 marks, Group Discussion and Interview shall be as indicated below:

The pay scale for the post is INR 60000 – 180000 with other allowances and benefits as well. The selected candidates will first have to complete their one-year training period wherein, the Corporation offers various attractive pay packages.

The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years. The amount of the bond is INR 1,00,000 for General/OBC (NCL) candidates and INR 50,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Ques. What is the formula to calculate the final score or CGPA scores?
Ans. Percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree shall be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where he/ she has graduated. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks shall be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
Ques. What is the meaning of empanelment of candidate?
Ans. Candidates qualifying the Personal Interview round will only be adjudged suitable for empanelment. Therefore, it is again reiterated that candidates will have to qualify in CLAT 2018 and in PI separately in order to be considered eligible for empanelment. The Offer of Appointment will be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of category wise merit and based on requirement. Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the Pre - Employment Medical Examination.
Note: Only CLAT 2018 examination (applicable for admission into LLM/ PG courses) is pre-requisite and valid for this recruitment process. CLAT results of 2017 or prior is not valid.
Ques. Are there any health specifications for the post?
Ans. Yes, the official brochure states that the applicant must have a sound health. There no relaxation in POSOCO Medical Norms.
