    Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) holds the General Aptitude Test Post Graduate Pharmacy (GAT PGP) every year to admit candidates for their various programs under the Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) category. The exam is an Online Admission Test. This exam is for those candidates who did not give or pass GPAT examination for admission to M.Pharm. courses.

    The admission procedure usually starts in March after the release of the admission forms. The forms are available online on the University’s website, as well as offline. To take admission to any of these programs, candidate must have passed B.Pharm. from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. Given below are the exam dates as well as other important details regarding GAT PGP 2017.

    GAT PGP 2017 Exam Dates

    The admission procedure for the M.Pharm. courses starts with the availability of the application form, which starts in March. The procedure ends in May with the announcement of the result, after which the selection procedure begins. There are no official dates released by the University yet, but going by the trends in the previous years, the following are the tentative dates regarding the GITAM GAT PGP:

    GAT PGP Application Form

    The application forms for GAT PGP are available online on the University’s website, as well as offline.

    Online: To fill the form online, candidates can visit the official website of GITAM University at After filling the form, candidates have to pay the registration fee of Rs. 1000/- for male candidates and Rs. 600/- for female candidates. The payment can be made through debit card/ credit card/ net banking. The candidates should take a printout of the receipt for further correspondence.

    Offline: To get the offline form, candidates have to send a request on a plain paper to the Director of Admissions along with a demand draft of Rs.150/- in favor of ‘GITAM University’ payable at Visakhapatnam along with the name, mailing address, and other details.

    Alternatively, the forms can be obtained from any branch of Union Bank of India, Karur Vaisya Bank, or Indian Bank. After the form is filled, it is to be mailed to:

    GAT PGP Admit Card

    The admit card will be available on the University’s website once they are released. No admit card will be sent to the candidate via post or any other means of correspondence. To download the admit card, candidates have to visit and click on the link for admit card. Once redirected, candidates have to enter their application number, Gender, and Date of Birth. After all the details are entered, the admit card of the candidate will be displayed. From there, the candidate can printout their admit card.

    All candidates have to carry their admit card with them when they appear for the exam. A candidate without his/her admit card will not be allowed to give the examination under any circumstances. Even after the exam is over, candidates must keep their admit card with them till the counselling process is completed.

    GAT PGP Result

    The result for GITAM GAT PGP 2017 will be released in the first week of May. Like the admit card, the GAT Result will also be declared on the official site of the University. Once the result is declared, candidates can check it on the website by clicking on the ‘result’ link.

    After the candidate is redirected, he/she can obtain his/her result by entering their application number, date of birth, etc. Once the result is shown, the candidates can take out a print of the result.

    GAT PGP Admission

    The admission to the various programs in M.Pharm. are based on a merit list prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in GAT PGP. Some of the features of the merit list are:

    • The list is prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in GAT PGP
    • 25% seats are reserved for the candidates that belong to Karnataka State, only for Bengaluru campus, and only if they meet the requirements of the merit scores.
    • Candidates who score first rank in their 10+2 exam in their central or state board get a direct admission to the course of their choice without giving the GAT PGP examination.
