STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
KMAT Kerala Phase 2 was successfully conducted on April 02, 2017 by Mahatma Gandhi University. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate to difficult. The state level paper was held in offline mode. Candidates who appeared for KMAT Kerala 2017 MBA entrance exam are informed that official KMAT Answer Keys are available at http://www.asckerala.org/content/kmat-entrance-examination-2017. The paper consisted of 180 multiple choice questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English Language and General Knowledge. Candidates had to solve the paper in 2 hours 30 minutes only. Each question carries four marks and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. KMAT Kerala is conducted for admissions to MBA programs offered by various management colleges and B-Schools in Kerala. KMAT Kerala examination is conducted in two phases in a year. Phase 1 concluded on November 06, 2016. The results were declared on the official website in November 2016.

KAMT Kerala Paper consists of 50 questions in English Language and Quantitative Aptitude while 40 questions in Data Sufficiency & Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge section. To complete the test in given time, candidate must divide the total time according to a number of sections in the exam. Four marks will be rewarded for every correct response and there is no penalty wrong answer. Candidates have to score the sectional cutoff in this entrance test. The questions were asked from Time and Work, Percentages, Distance and Time, Profit and Loss, Averages, Mensuration, Probability, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio, Logarithms, Fundamentals of Mathematics etc. As per the candidates, Quantitative Aptitude section was time consuming. It consists of 50 questions and contains 200 marks. The level of the difficulty of this section was difficult. Most of the questions were formulae based. The questions from Simple and Compound Interest, Averages, Profit and Loss were easier to score than other questions. The questions based on Logarithms and Numbers were hard to attempt. Any score more than 40 marks will be considered as good one.
This section consists of 50 questions, 20 questions were based on vocabulary and 10 questions were based on Reading Comprehension. It needed good comprehension and understanding of basic grammar. The questions were asked from misspelled words, Synonyms, Antonyms, Statement Assumption, Direct or Indirect Speech, Reading Comprehension and Sentence Correction. This section consists of 27 Data Sufficiency questions and 13 Logical Reasoning questions. The questions were based on Statement conclusion, Courses of action, Statement Arguments, Series, Sentence Completion, Figure based questions, Pair Words etc. The level of difficulty of this section was moderate. All the questions were tricky but easy to attempt.
The questions were asked from Static GK, Current Affairs and Contemporary Business Scenario. This was the toughest section in the examination. The sectional cutoff for General Knowledge section goes very low. A score more than 10% of marks of will be considered as qualifying marks. Candidates must have knowledge about the business scenario of India and the things which are popular nowadays.
The minimum qualifying marks of KMAT Kerala for all the categories is mentioned in the table below. There will be no rounding off marks to the nearest whole number. Suppose, the KMAT Kerala score is 107.8 out of 720 then the score would not be considered as 108. The cutoff marks vary according to the category.
