NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST

For recruitment to Indian Defence forces that includes Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. Aspirants must be familiar with CDS exam pattern. Here, we are talking about Elementary Mathematics for CDS Exam. Math is a scoring subject for all competition exams.

**CDS** Math paper contains 100 objective type questions and all questions carry equal marks. **CDS** Math paper have four options for the answer every question. For every wrong answer, one-third marks will be deducted as penalty. You should give only one answer. More than 1 answer will be treated as a wrong answer and Left blank question has no penalty for it.

This paper is design for test your speed and concepts of math calculations. Everything depends on how fast you are to solve various types of problems. Practice more and more for this paper to score well in UPSC Combined Defence service exam. Aspirants must cover these following topics-

**Speed:** Speed and accuracy is the key point. By regular practice and analyzing the questions, speed will be developed.

**Analyzing topic of expertise or topics which can be mastered in few days:** Practice with various mock tests and question banks.

**Time Management:** It is the only key for any competitive exam. Clear concepts are the best strategy to get the scores in Subject like Mathematics.

**Make use of Techniques:** Learn new tricks or smart learning methods to ensure efficient use of time and labor. Try to adopt your own short cut methods. Take a systematic approach for each question.

**Learn:** Learn the tables up to 25, cubes up to 15, cube roots up to 15 and basic algebra formulas. Regularly revise them till the date of the examination.

**Revise:** Revise whatever you learn during your preparation at the end of the week. This way you will be able to retain the information.

**Previous year’s paper:** Solve previous year’s question papers on a daily basis. This helps in understanding the pattern of questions and how to attempt them. This will also enable you to understand the level of difficulty for each topic.

In 2014 CDS I, there were high number of questions on Trigonometry.

In 2014 CDS II, there were high majority of questions on Mensuration.

In the year 2015 in both CDS I & II, Mensuration were leading with 22 number of questions.
