NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
As per latest notification, IBPS will conduct the entrance exam for appointing Probationary Officers in the month of October. The Prelims have been scheduled for October 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2018 while the Main exam will be conducted on November 18, 2018.
The Application Form for IBPS PO 2018 is expected to be out by August 2018. Candidates are advised to ensure whether they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam before filling the form.
Candidates must be well versed with the IBPS PO Exam Pattern to score well in the exam. No major change has been announced in the exam pattern except the introduction of sectional time limit.
In the IBPS PO 2018 mains exam, there are 5 sections- Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Reasoning Ability (RA), General Awareness (GA), English Language (EL) and Computer Knowledge (CK). A total of 200 questions are asked and 1 mark is awarded for each correct marked answer. For each incorrect answer, ¼ marks would be deducted.

From Quantitative Aptitude section, 50 questions are asked and the sectional cut off goes quite high. If you are not good with numbers then there are certain topics to cover and that can fetch you to achieve the minimum qualifying marks set by IBPS. The topics are:

GA is vast topic and it cannot be prepared in one day. Stay updates with latest events through newspapers. 20 minutes are sufficient to crawl through all the 40 questions. Focus on the last 5 months current affairs. Read monthly magazines.
The smallest, easiest and the fastest section in IBPS PO that anyone can attempt with high accuracy- Computer Knowledge. It comprises of only 20 questions and should take about 10 minutes to get sthrough. Only basics of computers such as Operating System (OS) Function, Internet, Protocols, Network, Generations, Input/ Output Devices, Shortcut Keys, a bit of DBMS and MS Office are asked in the exam.
You can prepare for the Computer Knowledge Section with ease through online and offline resources. Candidates can download study material from the internet as they are very good for preparation. The questions are not very difficult if the basic concepts are clear. There are also some books available in the market which can help to an extent.
1. Time Management: Keep a bull’s eye on the timer you are provided to solve each question. If a question takes much time to answer, leave it and jump over another.
2. Speed & Accuracy: Keep solving mock tests to stay in touch with the older topics. It is not possible to complete all the questions but it is mandatory to qualify the sectional cut off in order to be eligible for the IBPS PO Mains Exam. Only practice can improve the accuracy level.
3. Revision: Give quality time to all the sections of IBPS PO. There are topics which are easily forgettable, so revise them properly. It is very important to revise on a regular basis.
4. Proper Planning: An organized schedule that outlines study times and learning goals. You must be able to solve the questions in such a way that you can explain the questions in multiple ways without any hesitation.
5. Be Healthy: Make out some time for physical activities too, to fresh your mind and stay stress-free. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy.
