NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
National Defence Academy, NDA Exam is a national level entrance exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) for admission to the pretigious National Defence Academy, Pune. UPSC NDA II 2016 was conducted on September 18, 2016. The exam was divided into a set of two papers – paper 1 (Mathematics) and paper 2 (General Ability Test). Paper 1 was of 300 marks and paper 2 was of 600 marks.
Being one of the toughest paper regarding officer rank entry in different wings of NDA (Army, Air force, and Navy), the exam requires a thorough preparation.

Paper 1 (Mathematics): Sets and Functions, Algebra, Trigonometric, Coordinate Geometry, Matrices and determinants, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus Differential Equation, etc.
Paper 2 (General Ability Test): English, General Science, Geography, History, Freedom Movement, etc.

Conducted Offine i.e. pen and paper based test with objective type questions in two shifts, the paper consisted of Mathematics & General Ability of total 900 marks to be completed in 150 minutes each. The Exam Pattern of NDA II 2016 was as follows:

NDA 2 paper 1 was held in the Morning shift. The level of questions asked were moderate. The section consisted of a total of 120 questions focusing majorly upon Algebra, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations. The remaining questions were from Analytical Geometry of two & three dimensions, Statistics & Probability, Trigonometry, Differential calculus, etc.
Candidates also had to solve some tricky though conceptual questions from the Matrices and Determinants. Overall, a candidate with average level of preparation is expected to score decent enough to make the NDA Cutoff.

The second paper of NDA II 2016 was held in the Afternoon shift. The level of questions asked was moderate with few questions that required critical thinking and innovative approach. Constructed with a total of 150 questions to be solved in 150 minutes, the main focus of the paper was on the General knowledge and English section.
The English section of paper 2 was of 200 marks, consisted of questions on spotting errors, fill in the blanks, antonyms, selecting words in a passage, comprehension passage, sentence improvement, etc.
General knowledge section of paper 2 was of 400 marks, consisted of questions on Geography, History, Freedom Movement, physics, chemistry, current events, general science, etc.

Overall, NDA 2 entrance examination was moderate. So, do not waste a single moment for NDA 2 Preparation. Study hard. Do well and the Good Life will follow.
