NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is conducted for the candidates who aspire to become a teacher. The test is mandatory for getting a teaching job in government schools from class 1 to class 8. CTET is divided into two parts Paper-1 and Paper-2. Paper-1 is for teachers opting for class 1 to class 5 and Paper-2 for teachers opting for class 6 to class 8.
CBSE conducts CTET twice in a year. It is important for the aspirants to qualify CTET so as to get a job in government schools as a teacher. All graduates, including B.A, B.Sc., B.Com etc. are eligible to take the test. All B. Ed. graduates need to qualify this exam to serve as a teacher. A candidate has to score over 60 per cent in CTET to clear the eligibility test. The CTET is tough with qualification rate of 1% to 14% in CTET exam held so far.
CTET 2018 is expected to conduct in the month of May and cut off will be declared in the month of October 2018. CTET Cut off will be released as per different categories. Candidates securing the desired cut off will be qualified for CTET 2018. The minimum qualifying marks of CTET is 60%. The Total mark of Paper-I and Paper-II is 150 each. Therefore, the estimated CTET Cut off 2016 will be 90 marks.
Every year large number of candidates appear for CTET examination. The CTET cut off are announced along with CTET Result. The cut off is minimum marks which are fixed by CBSE depending upon certain parameters like Level of Questions asked, Number of Candidates appeared in CTET. Only those students who will get the required marks will be qualified for CTET and will be able to get Eligibility Certificate.
CBSE will declare the CTET Cut off Marks at the declaration time of CTET result. Till then, interested candidates can go through the previous year(s) cut off marks are given below:

CBSE successfully conducted CTET on September 18, 2016, in two shifts Paper -1 and Paper -2. Paper- 2 was held from 09:30 am to 12:00 pm while Paper 1 was held from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, both the paper was of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Total marks for both the papers was of 150 marks each. All the questions were Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) with no negative marking.
Paper-1 contained 150 questions and duration for the paper was 2 hours and 30 minutes. CTET Exam Pattern and content of the questions were based on Child Development and Pedagogy, English Language, Hindi Language, Mathematics and Environmental Studies, each topic covering 30 MCQs.
Paper-2 also contained 150 questions and duration for the paper was 2 hours and 30 minutes. The CTET exam pattern and content of the questions were based on Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teachers) and Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/ Social Science teachers). Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II shared 30 MCQs each in the paper while Mathematics and Science and Social Studies/Social Science had 60 questions each.
For the CTET 2016 Exam, large number of candidates appeared for CTET 2016. We inform the candidates that the result was announced in the month of November on the CTET official website. After qualifying for CTET 2016 candidates can apply for teaching jobs in various government schools.
The level of CTET exam, was of moderate to difficult level. Based on the difficulty of paper and number of candidates appeared in CTET 2016 exam, category wise cutoffs are as follows: -

A candidate must score at least 60% or more in the CTET to be considered eligible CTET and for the award of the eligibility certificate. It means that the candidate must secure at least 90 marks out of 150 in each paper to be CTET qualified. The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. School Managements (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to the person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
