DMRC Observation Test

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation conducts recruitment exam for the post of Station Controller and Train Operator. The selection process includes four basic stages namely, written test, Psychology test, Personal Interview and Medical examination.

DMRC Shortlisted candidates from written test will be called for psychology test which further includes the following tests:

  • Embedded figure test
  • Figure association test
  • Memory test
  • Observation test
  • Personality test

What is Observation Test?

Observation set is a test in which candidates need to find out odd one from some specific figures. The test is also called as Dissimilarity Test or Odd One Out Test. In this test, 6 matrices of 4x4 figures are given and any one figure in 6 is different or dissimilar from other 5. Candidate has to find that matrix consists of shapes like circles, square, triangle, and pentagon. It is a test of speed and accuracy.

  • Observation test is one of the toughest part of psychology test.
  • Candidates need to practice and need to speed up themselves.
  • Test is basically testing candidates’ accuracy and time management skills.
  • Time duration of 5 Minutes will be provided to the candidates for attempting 30 questions.

Observation test is one of the tests under the Psychology test. The test involves filling of OMR sheet with the correct answers.

How to practice?

Candidates must practice very much for this section of psychology test. The steps of practice are as follows:

  • Start practice without timer for 1-2 days, try to solve all 30 questions quickly.
  • After 2-3 days, set timer in stop watch for 5 minutes.
  • After practice of at least a week, slowly reduce 1 minute time.
  • When you are able to solve 30 questions in 3 minutes stop reducing time, maintain this speed regularly.

What is safe score in Observation Test?

Out of 30 questions being attempted in 5 minutes, the safe score for DMRC SC/TO is 15.


General Instructions

Candidates must read all the instructions carefully present on their admit card of DMRC Psychology test. Some most important instructions are as follows:

  • Candidates must bring 2 HB pencils, 1 eraser, 1 sharpener and 1 Black/Blue ball point pen with themselves for the Psycho Test.
  • Specific pattern must be used by the candidates at the time of exam as used at time of practice.
  • Time must be managed properly by candidates to attempt maximum number of questions.
  • All the electronic devise like mobile, calculator, electronics watch etc. are prohibited in the exam center.
  • Candidates must bring all the required original documents along with a set of attested copies.
  • Outstation candidates eligible for Psycho test will be reimbursed to and fro sleeper class Rail/Bus fare by the shortest route.
