Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University was established by act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature no 31 of 2008.University accepts scores of TS PGECET 2017. This University is under the special policy of providing a special education in Arts and Architecture to the present need of Human Facility and entertainment industry.

India is very rich in its culture and heritage. India also has a great mythological background. The Art and Architecture plays an important role in pervading our culture. The Indian rural folk have an abundant talent which needs to be explored and put in a proper use to be applied in modern technological developments in the fields of human facilities and entertainment. This University is the first of its kind in its entire country and established in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana with the headquarters at Mahavir Marg, Masab Tank, and Hyderabad.

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, offers courses such as Architecture, Facilities and Services planning, Interior Designing, Planning etc in school of planning and Architecture. In Fine Arts building, painting, Applied Arts, Photography animation, Sculpture, etc are offered.

Prof. Dr. N. Kavita Dariyani Raois the Vice- Chancellor of this University. She studied Architecture from the erstwhile college of Fine Arts and Architecture, JNTU and did her Post Graduation in the field of Housing from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Prof. S. Pradeep Kumar is the Registrar. He is Multidisciplinary Qualified Professor. His qualifications includes the prestigious Associate-ship of Photographer from Roy of Photography Society London, the Fellowship from Federation of Indian Photography which is an affiliated of FIAP finance, besides holding a Bachelor of Degree of Science(Hons), Master Degree in Management and Bachelor of Degree in Law.

Admission Procedure in Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture And Fine Arts University

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture And Fine Arts University, Hyderabad confer the Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Faculties of Architecture, Planning, Design and Fine Arts. The award of Bachelor’s degrees and Master’s degrees is in accord with provisions and guidelines.

Guidelines for Admissions into UG and PG Courses-

  1. Foreign students seeking admission into JNAFAU should correspond with the Coordinator, International Relations Officer J.N.A.F.A.U, Hyderabad, 500028, India. International Students are advised not to apply to the college directly.
  2. International students can start applying for provisional admissions into UG and PG courses of the University from any time till 31st August of the year.
  3. After scrutiny of the applications of eligibility, the University will issue a Letter of Provisional Eligibility and Admission’ for the purpose of obtaining VISA from Indian Embassy, a ‘Student Visa’ or a ‘Research Visa’ as the case may be that must be endorsed to Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad and without which no admission can be made.
  4. After obtaining the ‘Student Visa’ endorsed to Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture And Fine Arts University, Hyderabad the students must send a written confirmation of the acceptance of the course to the Director International Relations Officer Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad, Telangana, India
  5. The Student shall report to the Director, International relations in Person and produce original certificates on payment of necessary fee and may obtain the ‘Firm Admission Allotment Letter’ with the firm admission allotment letter, the student can report to the concerned college of unit to join the programme. M.Tech Planning-This course is aimed to provide professional training in urban and regional planning with special emphasis on environment human settlements and planning issues. On completion most students go into practices as planners.

The first semester of the course aims to provide comprehensive introductions to the principal and practices of planning.

The Second semester aims to provide a range of choice for specialist study within the field of Urban and regional Planning.

These aims to develop the candidate’s capacity to undertake a competent piece of planning research under supervision. The selection of the research topic is as the choice of the student, subject to approval.

Students should pass the entrance examination conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University to get selected for M.Tech in Planning.

Eligibility criteria will be like B.Arch/B. Tech( Civil Engineering) Masters Degree in Economics or Geography from a recognized University.


M.Arch (Interior Design)- Interior Design is multifaceted profession that includes, conceptual developments, liaising with stake holders of a project and the management and execution of the design. The profession implies that there is more emphasis on planning, Functional Design and effective use of materials. Interior design is relatively new, constantly evolving profession and has become truly the need of the hour with the spaces shrinking.

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University offers B.Design, a full time degree programme in Interior Design. It is an interdisciplinary course which encompasses space planning and design, product design, human psychology, environmental control etc.


The M.Arch programme which offers specialization in interior design demands a passion for the subject, and its position within the school and faculty means that it is superbly place to allow the students to pursue directions from the most creative to the most technical and is professional in approach. Design is central to the course and the studio-based approach encourages the synthesis of the technological, theoretical, and aesthetic strands. The students also enjoy a continuing and consistent interaction with well qualified experts and practicing professionals in the field. The curriculum is structured to materials, constructions, and environmental sciences, design theory, which form an integral part of interior design. Organizing seminars furthers these, computer related works and workshops.

A student must complete B.Arch to get admission in M.Arch in Interior Designing. For the selection process the students must qualify the entrance exam conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University.

Environmental Design-After completion of B. Arch in Environmental Design students can pursue the course of M. Arch in Environmental Design from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and fine Arts University. Students must get minimum 50% marks to get admission in any PG level courses. The performance of the students shall be evaluated subject wise in each semester.

M. Arch in Environmental Design first semester courses include Planning developments and research. Building bylaws and legislation for Architecture and Planning. Advanced computer graphics and information systems (3D, walkthroughs, GIS etc). Advanced landscape architecture. Seminars (High Rise buildings, Green arch etc)

M. Arch in Environmental Design second semester courses includes design and planning Lab/Studio. Ecology and resource development. Housing and community planning. Traffic and transportation. Construction management.

M.Arch in Environmental Design third semester courses includes advanced environmental design lab/studio. Geo Information systems in Environmental Planning. Urban design and conservation. Environmental Infrastructure. And Seminar II.

M.Arch Environmental Design fourth semester courses includes Environmental impact assessment and green concepts. Thesis/Project/Dissertation.


Construction Management- Eligibility to get admission in PG level course in Construction Management is B. Arch or its equivalent. Or B. Tech/ B.E or its equivalent. Admissions shall be made either o the basis of their merit rank obtained by the qualifying students at their entrance exam test conducted by the university or on the basis of GATE score, subject to reservation prescribed by the University time to time.

M.Arch in Construction Management second semester courses includes Construction personnel management. Materials and Equipment Management. Construction Finance Management. Construction safety Management. Construction Quality management. Case Study. Information technology in Construction II.

Third Semester only has Thesis and Internship.

Courses of fourth semester in Construction Management are Legal framework of Construction. Building services and O&M management. Infrastructure Development Project Management. Quantitative Techniques in Management. Construction and Environment. Advanced construction and Technologies.

Urban Design Urban Design is about making connections between peoples and places, movement and urban form, nature and the built fabric. Urban design draws together the many strands of place making, environmental stewardship, social equity and economic visibility into the creation of places with distinct beauty and identity.

First Semester courses of Urban Design is Settlement Evolution and Planning Theory. Planning analysis and Techniques. Computer applications and Information Systems. Housing and community planning. Economics and Sociology for Settlement planning. Infrastructure planning. Planning Lab-1. Habitat Study-Report.

Second Semester courses of Urban Design is Metropolitan and Regional Planning. Traffic and Transportation Planning. Information technology in Planning. Ecology an environmental Planning. Planning for rural developments. Planning Lab II. Planning Organization- Appraisal/Training Report.

Third semester courses of urban design is Urban Development Management. Planning Legislation. Urban design, Planning and Landscape. Planning colloquium and seminar. Project planning, appraisal and management. Planning lab III

Fourth Semester courses of urban design includes Planning Thesis only.
