IAS Mains Bodo Syllabus

IAS Exam is held on multiple dates starting from December 03 to December 09, 2016. In IAS Main exam there are 2 optional papers in UPSC civil services mains exam. In IAS Mains examination paper 6&7 are optional subject papers. You can choose Bodo language as an optional subject, if you have graduated in the literature of Bodo language as the main subject. With well-planned strategies, you can easily score well in the Bodo literature. Interest should be the prime criteria for choosing any optional. Each Bodo paper consists of 250 marks. Duration for each Bodo mains paper is 3 hours. Here is a detailed IAS Syllabus.

IAS Mains Bodo Paper 1

Section A- History of Bodo Language and Literature

1. Homeland, language family, its present status and its mutual contact with Assamese.

2.1. Phonemes : Vowel and Consonant Phonemes

2.2. Tones.

3. Morphology : Gender, Case & Case endings, Plural suffix, Definitives, Verbal suffix.

4. Vocabulary and its sources.

5. Syntax : Types of sentences, Word Order.

6. History of Scripts used in writing Bodo Language since inception.

Section B- History of Bodo Literature

  1. General introduction of Bodo folk literature.
  2. Contribution of the Missionaries.
  3. Periodization of Bodo Literature.
  4. Critical analysis of different genre (Poetry, Novel, Short Story and Drama.
  5. Translation Literature.

IAS Mains Bodo Paper 2

The Paper will require first-hand reading of the texts prescribed and will be designed to test the critical ability of the candidates.

  5. Gwdan Boro : Manoranjan Lahary.
  6. Jujaini Or : Chittaranjan Muchahary.
  7. Mwihoor : Dharanidhar Wary.
  8. Hor Badi Khwmsi : Kamal Kumar Brahma.
  9. Jaolia Dewan : Mangal Singh Hozowary.
  10. Hagra Guduni Mwi : Nilkamal Brahma.

Remember not to commit grammatical mistakes. Improve writing skills for IAS Bodo literature exam. Handwriting should be legible for IAS Exam. A good command over the language is always helpful. Analytical and unconventional questions are appearing in previous papers so while preparing student should keep IAS Mains Bodo Syllabus and previous papers for reference.
